About Karen

Hello, I am Karen Fleischer, or "Auntie Karen," to many of my clients. I have been serving the Bay Area (East Bay and Marin County mostly) for more than 25 years specializing in care of high needs newborns (twins and preemies) in their first 6-8 weeks of life. I support you to not merely survive the experience of becoming new parents (first, second time or more), but to thrive and enjoy these precious first few days, weeks and months of your baby's arrival. We work together to create the type of support you desire. I believe that a good beginning with the right support can make a difference for a person's whole life and family's harmony. I became a doula with the belief that everyone deserves this type of support. I am a Bay Area native and enjoy spending my free time in nature and reading good books.

Twelve eight hour night visits (96 hours) or twelve five hour day visits (60 hours). Quotes for twin packages available upon request, separate rate.

What to expect

I offer day and night doula support for newborns and their parents. The care centers on establishing a supportive family routine where we check in around mood and things that may call for adjustment as needs change and evolve during this sensitive experience. Practical care offered includes aid in establishing milk supply, latch/nursing and or infant formula feeding. Care of the parents includes: rest, healing, hydration, nourishment, practical baby care instruction and lots of encouragement and support.
