I was delivered here & I’m giving birth at the same birth place

I started going to this Birth Center in 2022 and I have delivered Three Children. I have so much to say but I’ll try and keep it short and simple. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE going here. Ms. Kathy and Ms. Jenna are both wonderful Midwives. They’re very honest and caring. Ms. Kathy, guided me through all three of my births. Why I choose to go here? Because they don’t take away from my birth experience. They allow me to listen to My body.. and I’m in complete control of my experience. The Support system is amazing and omg my Doula, Ms. Phyllis, nothing is impossible with her. She specializes in aromatherapy, she literally is accessible 24 hours a day, extremely honest and so funny..&& honestly speaking they’re family. I love how they treat me and I’ve witness how wonderful they are with other moms as well. I can literally go on and on. The staff, they ALWAYS greet you with a smile, they can and will assist you with ANYTHING… So if you’re looking for a family to join.. if you want a birth experience that you are in complete control of, with a wonderful support system THIS is the HOME/ Center for you.

My baby girl is almost 2 months old & I thankfully birthed a healthy 10lb baby. I had no tares & no complications. My Doula did a great job helping me through my contractions & making my family feel comfortable. I unfortunately didn’t receive my original Doula, my after birth expectations for my daughter such as, no cord cutting until the blood was completely gone from the cord, not having a bath, etc, were not fulfilled. I also didn’t receive the complete advocacy I expected! I also didn’t have my original midwife Jenna. She allows you to have what you desire for your birth plan and your baby. She wasn’t able to be as present in my most recent birth experience, as the first ,and it made a big difference in enjoying the birth of my daughter. I had to change from Ms. Kathy to Jenna for my 1st baby because Kathy doesn’t like to adhere to your wishes for your pregnancy sometimes. She’s can be dismissive. The atmosphere is very calming and homey which I love & I was able to push my babygirl out in the tub, just as I did for my son who is 3 now. I also had to wait to come in after having contractions for hours and I wanted to be in the comfort of the birthing center to get through my contractions. They have resources and tools I didn’t have access to @ home that really help me get through labor pains and discomfort. My 1st I was able to come in a bit earlier in my labor, which honestly made all the difference. Pros and cons of birthing here depending on your situation. I don’t recommend anything that will encourage contractions before baby is ready to come out, I was having painful contractions almost 24-48 hours. I also had a very uncomfortable ultrasound sound there. A nurse kept trying to get my baby to move by pressing on my stomach very hard and uncomfortably for at least 30 minutes. I was in my 3rd trimester by this time.

They’re amazing,very cozy. They treat you very good!

I have had all my babies here and I will say I will never think about having my children at the hospital and you should do the same….i love it here

I can not add too much to my review since I am still pregnant and haven’t given birth but the staff is wonderful everyone has been super helpful and considerate for my care. my 1st ob moved to a different city and my second wasn’t helpful to me but I was listened to and given great advice for pregnancy problems which I wasn’t getting with my 2nd ob I’m glad I made the change and look forward to delivery.

When I was about 3 months pregnant I switched over to the birth center and it was the best decision ever! They took great care of us EVERY appointment but I wasn’t able to give birth here due to my son being breach. They found me a great doctor last minute Jenny and Kathy were AMAZING.

Great service. More like family. Clean and thorough. Ms.Kathy and all the nurses are amazing.

I had an amazing experience at the North Houston Birth Center. I attended an event at the center during the beginning of my pregnancy in 2024 just to check things out and I immediately knew this is where I wanted to give birth to my baby. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and educational. The staff and midwives always made me feel safe, secure, and sure that I was making the right choice by choosing them. I also chose NHBC bc I knew I wanted a better birthing experience than I had previously with my 1st child. I explained to the staff what I wanted and I got exactly want I asked for! Not only did I learn the benefits of a natural pregnancy and water birth I got to experience it 1st hand. I labored mostly at home and was able to communicate with my midwife throughout the entire process.When my contractions became more intense and closer together I was able to get to the center and start the birthing process with ease. I requested a water birth and did just that. Everything was seamless and peaceful. My midwife coached my partner to catch the baby as she was coming out and he did so beautifully. I gave birth to a healthy baby girl, we bonded, got cleaned up and was on our way home within 4 hours. I loved every minute of my birthing experience at NHBC and if I choose to have more children this is where they will be delivered.

We are so thankful we decided to have our first pregnancy/birth at nhbc. The staff is friendly and I felt cared for during each appointment, especially after my birth. They had a follow up with me around 5 days after birth to see how baby & I were doing. If you aren’t a fan of hospitals and are a low risk momma then I would highly suggest a birth center. I enjoyed the midwives. I loved how Mrs. Kathy & Jenna are experienced and have their own unique personalities and feedback. I greatly value their holistic approach to childbirth and women’s health.

This was the best birthing experience I’ve ever had! I’m a mother of three and I’ve done a natural birth for all of my children. My first child was birth in a hospital and it was not a pleasant experience. My second child was birth in a birthing center and the experience was much better than the first but still I felt that the midwives didn’t have the knowledge and experience to help me the way I needed to be helped. Now my third child was birth here at NORTH HOUSTON BIRTHING CENTER and it was the best decision I ever made! Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and caring from start to finish! I knew from the moment I arrived I was going to have a great experience! Kathy was an angel sent from above! I gave birth to my biggest baby yet but Kathy made this my easiest and best birthing experience! I gave birth September 15, to my first baby girl weighing 10lbs 2oz. So I want to show great appreciation to Kathy and everyone single lady that helped me through my birthing experience! Thank you so very much to Kathy and the whole team at North Houston Birthing Center!

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 10 STARS I WOULD! First off the place is clean, the staff are so polite. Jenna & Kathy are God sent! They are very attentive and sweet the both of them! They provide classes for everything you need to know when it comes to birthing. I was a first time mom coming here, so I was a bit nervous and skeptical. However, I’m so glad I didn’t allow those feelings to over take me! My birthing journey was so amazing! Would absolutely go to this location again for my next child. So happy I came here instead of going to the hospital. As a black woman we have a higher rate in dying in hospitals giving birth. This place was a great alternative! Instead of being in an establishment that treats you like a cash cow and doesn’t regard how you feels. I don’t trust hospitals so I’m so happy and blessed they have places like this as an alternative! I will be back God willing! I will definitely recommend every mother I know and come across to go here! Remember your body was designed to do this! You can do this, and if you decide to and are located in the Houston Texas area I recommend go to NHBC!!!

I had such a wonderful experience with my midwife Cathy and my Doula Michelle. They were very encouraging and made sure my birth was everything I wanted and more. From the front desk to delivery, everyone at the birth center made me feel so safe and cared for. Kathy is amazing! She has been my midwife for 2 of my 5 children. Trust me, she knows all the tips and tricks to make make sure you are able to manage the pressure you experience during labor and delivery. They also have counseling sessions with a birthing coach just to keep your mind positive and strong. Natural birth is absolutely possible and beautiful.

Just had my baby boy here on July 5th. I’m real happy I found this place. They accepted my insurance and it was everything I wanted in a natural birth. I had a vision, believed that I could I and I did it! Kathy was very helpful and straight forward when it came to what to expect and letting my body do what it was made to do. I was also given an amazing doula who was along side me during labor and made the experience very peaceful🤍 I’m grateful I got to be in a comfortable home - like setting and have my birth plan come to life 🫶🏼🙏🏼

Kathy is the best! I had baby number five here and it was the easiest labor I've experienced. No tearing, and not much pain. Sarah was also helpful she held my hand during my delivery. If I have another baby I will definitely return.

I have given birth twice with the help of Kathleen and her staff. I am currently her patient for my third pregnancy and have loved every bit of their care. They have changed facilities between my previous child and my current pregnancy. I absolutely love the new location they reside in! The facility is spacious and has an extremely comforting atmosphere with the lounge/family room, birthing rooms and unique layout. The staff are attentive and my midwife has always given me the space to feel seen and know I am listened to. I am not just another case file or repeat customer in their care which is a feeling that most times comes with a hospital birth. I experienced being made to feel small asking questions as a new mom which is why I opted for a midwife because this team was the complete opposite to where my husband and I felt readily supported. I will always opt for a midwife/doula to have my babies as comfortable as possible. I'm so happy to be in their care once more and hope people really understand the importance that this field has in the natural world.

Love going to my appointments. Everybody from the front desk all the way to seeing the doctor Mrs. Kathleen is amazing. The environment vibe is amazing and also so positive. You know that you will be taken great care of and that they will help you with anything you have questions about. Definitely have already recommended to family, friends, and even strangers. You come here and definitely won’t be disappointed. I honestly feel grateful that the Universe put this birthing center in my path. Even the essential oil specialist Ms. Phyllis is amazing and informative and Amanda the coach that comes on Wednesday cares about how life is before and after baby has arrived.They definitely have the whole package when it comes to your care, your babies care and even bonus your husband/partner care. If I’m being frank it makes you love everyone there. The energies are pure and everyone helps you and makes you feel comfortable. When I had my baby Phyllis, Kathy, and my husband just let me process everything and were supportive the whole way.😊😊😊💜💜💜💜🩷🩷🩷🩷

I enjoy Kathy I had two kids here and I’m currently going for my third. My son was born in my car in the parking lot cuz I didn’t make it to the center on time my placenta was stuck in my birth canal getting out of the car and going upstairs. My daughter was born in the center but the postpartum bleeding was horrible Kathy was ready to send me to the hospital but luckily got the bleeding to stop. The staff at that time was great. Now I’m going back and this new staff is rude, insufficient and not what the older staff was. They making me uncomfortable and pisses me off to give birth here. I’m looking into other birth places or even a hospital. I would love Kathy but not her staff. Plus Kathy answers the phone personally at any hour. Unlike hospital doctor who’s nurse Kline have to call the doctor and determine if you can speak to ur doctor. Kathy A+ staff I’ll give a C-.

I fell in love with this place from the first day I visited, up until I gave birth. Mrs. Kathleen and her staff are the best! They were all very patient and welcoming with every appointment. My birth plan went smooth and she was very communicative and informative. I would definitely recommend Mrs. Kathleen, the birthing center and her staff because it was all a great first time experience for me. I’d also like to add that when doing this birthing method I would recommend you still take your baby to the hospital afterwards or have your baby checked out properly because they don’t check for things like jaundice which my son had and we didn’t find out until 5 days later which caused his numbers to spike really high and here at the birthing center they only keep you 4 hrs after having your baby. But as I said this is a “Birthing Center” so they don’t check for things like that right away like they do in hospitals but overall I had a good experience and I actually really do love this place. On another positive note our son is doing perfectly fine, so this isn’t to frighten anyone I just thought I’d share my experience in hopes to enlighten others. Good luck with your pregnancy journey and know that you got this because you were built for it.

I want to start this off by saying the staff here is absolutely amazing, friendly, caring and just so attentive. Couldn’t have asked for a better team 💜 My wife autumn gave birth here at the birthing center. Our midwife Mrs. Kathy was extremely helpful, very kind , and knowledgeable. Extremely funny too 😂 made us feel like we were at home in our comfort. When it was time for delivery she was very attentive and got straight down to business and made sure she showed us so much care and made us a priority unlike a hospital would. Even juggling other ladies there giving birth she still made sure we were well tooken care of. The facility is absolutely beautiful and very clean also had the home like feeling that we loved very much. My doula Mrs Phyllis was heaven sent ! She was very informative gave me a whole lot of tips and tricks to help me in my birthing journey and her essential oils that she gave me for any problems I was having helped me out so much in my pregnancy ❤️

I have been a patient since 2015 to present I absolutely love it here and the staff is like family ❤️ I did not get a chance to deliver my son here because he came early but I continued my after care here and I’m not leaving anytime soon it’s always clean nice and quiet I love it here

I recommend coming to the North Houston Birth Center. I personally appreciate all the support I had while giving birth naturally. I didn't think i was ready but Ms. Patricia the very skilled duola encouraged me to let me know that I was made to do so. The staff was very supportive and held my hand . They checked on me when I needed help and gave me privacy when I requested privacy. This was an experience that I wouldn't want to experience no where else but here. I love this place so much 💗 I had the worst experience with the hospital when I was pregnant with my 6 year old son, they wouldn’t listen to me when I told them I had pains and something was wrong. They felt like because they was doctors they knew my body better than me . So I knew for my last pregnancy I wanted to do things differently, Thank God for this place !🙏🏾 I felt heard and everyone in this place is so amazing and sweet , make you feel like family . I would have my future kids here again , Thank y’all for the wonderful experience 🥰💪🏾

If you are wanting a natural peaceful and homey feeling birth then i 100% recommend this birthing center. Everyone is so caring and accommodating from the front desk to the assistants and the midwife’s. I had my daughter here in 2019 and just had my son here as well with Kathy. I wouldn’t have asked for it any other way. I will definitely be back for my next!

I’ve given birth to both my sons here and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Everyone at the birth center is so nice and down to earth. I never felt forced to make any decisions and if I had any questions they were answered. When it was time for labor it felt so homey and relaxing in the birth room. I was able to eat and drink throughout the whole thing. I wasn’t forced to push or felt rushed at all. My whole birth team let me lead and they were right by my side to help aid me. 10/10!

This center and their methods I absolutely love. I have given birth to two of my chilren and I plan to return for the third child. I love the midwifes and the support system that they provide to expecting mothers. They also accept Medicaid as a form of healthcare for those who have that type of assistance. Everyone there make you feel as if you are family and not just another patient. If you want a supportive and genuine journey to having your baby, I strongly recommend this birth center.

I loved everything about my pregnancy journey here at NHBC. Choosing to go natural requires strength! So that means you must have a strong team as well. That’s exactly what Ms.Kathy and her team is. The goal is to bring your precious bundle of joy, into a safe peaceful environment, and I received just that. Ms.Kathy is very old school, and I loved that about her. There was no Sugar coating anything lol. I came in at 4cm, they put the water on and 2hrs later I did 3 pushes. I wish you guys can see the video I recorded of my delivery, Ms Kathy caught my baby in the water with one hand!!! She told me to put my leg up on the side so my babies head wouldn’t be squished ,and his head came out in shape. I loved my experience so much that if God permits me with more kids, I will be going here. Also the ladies at the front desk are so sweet, I forgot their names so sorry.

I am super grateful for the North Houston Birth Center Team. My birthing experience was amazing and perfect. The team is super supportive, attentive, and caring. They prepare you for birth with positive attitude and most of all letting you know that you’re going to get the best and safest delivery.

I am so grateful for Kathy and the North Houston Birth Center! She is the only midwife in the Houston area who accepts Medicaid and I am so grateful for that because I really wanted to have a natural birth with my 5th child. I had a great experience and had 4 babies here now. I love that you can have a water birth and the environment is much more calming and homey than a hospital setting. The birth center is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Kathy is very knowledgable and always eases my worries and concerns. I truly feel safe in her care. If you are looking for a birth center, I highly recommend!

I transferred to the birth center at 36 weeks and I have NO regrets. The staff are friendly, supportive, and educated. The environment is calming and welcoming. During L&D, the staff were amazing and really helpful. This was my first pregnancy and I would choose the birth center over the hospital again.

I’m new to the area and I’ve been excessively looking around trying to find an OBGYN that excepts my insurance. I spoke with the front desk receptionist Tiffany who was super helpful. She’s very familiar with her job and because of her I felt comfortable setting up an appointment! Thank you

Love the birth center, had my baby boy 12.19, such a wonderful experience. Loved going to classes and learning more since I’m a ftm. My appointments all were with Jenna and I delivered with Ms Kathy. Definitely recommend getting a personal doula, my doula helped out so much. Definitely want to come back when we plan another baby.

If you are looking to have a natural birth at a home away from home this is the place. I will be going back to have the rest of my children here. This was my third pregnancy all natural and it was the most peaceful and beautiful experience I have ever had no exaggeration and to be able to go home the same day was the best thing for me. I am so grateful to Kathy and Jenna for such a wonderful experience.. Thank you to the Noryh Houston Birth Center team for taking good care of me and my baby. I had an amazing experience for my first time ultrasound. I loved the way I was treated with my family very welcoming. Hopefully we can deliver our baby here we are in the process of transitioning to the Houston birth center

We had our baby at north Houston birth center on December 2022. It was an amazing experience exactly as we wanted and planned for, everything was perfect from the start till end, Kathy is very experienced and she knows what she’s doing I trust her knowledge. All the staff are very nice and cooperative. Jenna also is an amazing experienced midwife. For any future mother who’s planning for natural birth I recommend North Houston birth center

The place is awesome staff is wonderful as well as the doula and the midwifes my favorite is Jenna she’s a midwife I never got the chance to relax in the tub due to ms Kathy delivering my baby on the bed because it didn’t take long for him to come but it was still a wonderful anxious experience especially for my first time I recommend you to try this business trust me you won’t regret it then on top of it Medicaid pays for it all I’m glad I found them and will always go back whenever I get pregnant again…btw they have beautiful delivery rooms too you’ll love it.

Our daughter was delivered here a few days ago & the service we received was truly amazing and top notch! The NHBC team worked so well together to ensure they provided excellent care! My husband & I were very pleased with the facility and the service they provided. We are so grateful that we were able to deliver our baby here! This birth center is AMAZING! I love the vibes They make you feel comfortable and welcomed and take really good care of you! My favorite part is that they let you have control of your birth. I felt amazing after I gave birth 100% recommend!

Mother of 4. I have had all my babies here with Kathy as my midwife since 2009. I love her direction and space she provides. She does not sugar coat or “fluff” anything which I’ve always loved and respected about her. While I’m not new to the natural childbirth experience, her approach is everything I’ve looked for. I prefer to be left alone with my husband as we work through contractions. She doesn’t cause much distraction or interruptions which has always allowed me space to bring my babies into the world as I wanted. I have recommended her to any of my loved ones who want a natural childbirth experience outside of a hospital. She will forever be who I go to to bring my children into the world!

I highly recommend this birthing center, to all young woman who are opening up to step out of the traditional way of having our beautiful children and In believe in our body’s. I enjoyed my experience and I’m grateful to have been around good energy that helped bring my sunnyshine into this world. The front desk ladies always been kind and helpful to my needs. Had our first baby here and Kathy, Jenna and everyone else in the office made the whole pregnancy and birth experience so easy and calm for me, I am so happy I did my natural birth with them. Both Kathy and Jenna took their time answering all my questions in every visit I went to, I also stayed for the classes which were more of an open class questions and answers instead of an actual class but I thought that was great and I learned quite a lot. When it got close to my due date I kept texting Jenna and she was always available for me and quick to answer, even in the middle of the night. Even after birth, once we went home with our baby girl, Jenna was still answering all my calls. I felt really bad bothering her with all the questions and concerns I had as a new mom but she was extremely nice, patient and willing to help. They even let me go back for them to give me stitches a week later, since I didn’t take recovery very seriously and the little tear I had got a bit bigger. Kathy gave me the stitches while Jenna held my hand. I’m glad I chose them, this whole team made this whole experience so much easier for me.

Seriously the best pregnancy journey I had. Everyone at this birth center is so welcoming. They make you feel like family. I enjoyed every moment from the beginning to birth. Although I won’t be having anymore little ones for awhile when I do this is right where I’ll be. Thank you to the NHBC staff and midwives for being so supportive in all my decisions and pregnancy journey.

Best experience I had. Both midwives Kathleen and Jenna were the best midwives and guided me throughout my birthing experience. I highly recommend this place if you are wanting somewhere that care and treat you like family.

We gave birth to our daughter on 10.05 at the birthing center. It was a fast delivery so we didn’t spend too much time at the center getting settled before she came. We spent about 4 hours at the center after she was born just enjoying our time with her and getting adjusted. Prior to her birth our visits we short and to the point, which we liked. We attended the birthing classes, which felt more like an open communication session rather than a birthing class. Overall, it was a great experience and we are glad we went with a birthing center.

Such a sweet, caring, genuine group of extravagant woman. These woman truly understood how to nurture me through this beautiful time in my life. I had pleasant experiences with each of the ladies who took care of me the entire journey and most importantly I felt heard and respected for my personal thoughts and feelings. I was never forced to do anything I did not want, I was always educated when I didn’t understand, and I never felt rushed during visits. Not only did they take great care of me, they blessed me with so many free gifts and resources! I highly recommend HNBC to any mother who does not feel at peace giving birth at a hospital!

My first birthing experience , with my first child was an amazing!! I will recommend this birthing center to all who would like a natural birth. I’m so grateful for Kathleen and her wonderful team! You ladies are phenomenal. Thank you!!!

I had my second child here at North Houston Birth Center. As scared as I was to have a natural birth, I am so glad that I went though with it. My husband and I felt welcomed and cared for while there. Highly recommend this birth center!! My personal experience was quite quick during labor, but everyone remained calm and I was able to deliver my little girl in a room full of smiles :)

I have had 3/4 kids here and everything was great until I decided not to have my last child there, for health concerns. Now that I want to go back for general well woman they can't do an exception in me being able to take my 5 month old breast-fed only, baby, to my yearly check up. Giving an excuse that because it's not a postpartum or because I didn't have my baby there.

My time and experience was amazing with these ladies from day one was great everyone was helpful. We set my birthing plan. I received a lot of new information. Ms Kathy and Jenna truly care about you and baby and it shows. I will be coming back next time ( no time soon) lol thank you 🙏🏽

I have had the pleasure of delivering both of my babies with Kathy and her wonderful staff! Every visit was a calm, wonderful experience and my labor and delivery were handled with ease and care. Now that I am a mom, I still go see Kathy for all of my well-woman exams. She truly is a joy, never sugar coats the facts that I needed to hear, and her knowledge extends beyond being a midwife has been a comfort to me in the five years I have been seeing her. I highly recommend this facility to anyone thinking they want to have a birth experience outside of the hospital. I will be a lifelong patient of Kathy's!

Thank you to the staff who made the experience very pleasant. I was terrified that I wouldn't be accepted due to having a previous cesarean surgery a few years back with my first child. I just wanted to feel safe and to be told that I am able to give birth to my second child via water birth, which was something I've always wanted to do. They are so sweet. From the receptionists to the midwives, they know what they're doing. Definite recommend. Thank you for making my second birth special.

I wish I knew about this place for my first pregnancy. The workers are so nice and definitely gives a homey feeling than when I was in the hospital. I went in for a 3-d ultrasound and I have to say, it was absolutely beautiful moment. The last time I had one for my first pregnancy, it wasn't fully clear at the place I went to. I definitely would recommend it if you're looking for a place that'll accept previous c-sections and want a friendly non-overbearing staff. Also they're very knowledgeable in what they're doing. So don't hesitate to ask them any questions.

I had my son here and it was the best experience I’ve had giving birth. From the prenatal visits all the way to when i was able to catch my own son… i would never go back into the hospital to give birth. I love how both Kathleen and Jenna are very knowledgeable and are very serious about their job. The front desk are wonderful and medical assistants are the sweetest. I do know if i decide to have another child, i will be back at North Houston. If you’re wanting a REAL birthing experience, i wouldn’t look any further.

I loved everything about this place since the 1st day I walked in , the whole staff and Kathy are great. I had two of my babies here, one last year September 2020 and another one these year October 2021, my birthing experience was amazing, i loved the one in water everything so relax and Kathy is always there for you just a call away

NHBC deserves 10+ ⭐️stars!!! I am more than happy and satisfied with my entire experience here. I had the humanized, respected and natural birth that I wanted so much and that was essential for me. From the first day I decided to visit to attend my pregnancy, both the staff and the midwives Kathy and Jenna were more than excellent, they always made me feel empowered and capable. At all times I was listened to, they took their time to answer all my questions and they continue to be present to answer my postpartum and newborn care questions. It's like NHBC becomes like your home, where you feel comfortable and safe. Truly, my entire pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum process exceeded my expectations and I will always be so grateful!
