Simone has been holding space for expecting and postpartum families for over 10 years. Birth has a powerful way of healing and transforming you, and her first birth did just that. The ability to have 2 empowered births the way she wanted, gave light to the need for advocacy, education and doula support amongst the birthing community, especially black families. Simone is a mother, doula, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, childbirth educator and infant sleep educator. She has been teaching and mentoring doulas along the way and excited to dive deeper into holding the hands of the next generation of birth workers.

I cannot say enough good things about Simone as our night doula and lactation consultant. From the moment she entered our home, she brought a sense of calm, compassion, and expertise that made an immediate difference in our postpartum experience. As a second-time mom navigating recovery, sleep deprivation, and feeding challenges, her presence was nothing short of a gift. She supported our entire family with such gentleness and professionalism. Her overnight care allowed us to get desperately needed rest, knowing our baby was in kind, capable hands. Her lactation guidance was equally invaluable. She offered evidence-based support with zero judgment—troubleshooting tummy issues, providing reassurance, and giving practical tools that worked. Thanks to her help, I went from overwhelmed and in pain to confident and empowered. I did not feel a bit of judgment when I chose to go from breastfeeding to formula due to my baby's tummy issues. She listened deeply, responded thoughtfully, and truly respected our parenting values. She didn’t just care for our baby—she cared for us. If you're looking for someone who is not only highly skilled but also emotionally attuned and reliable, I wholeheartedly recommend Simone. She’s an absolute gem and a vital part of our early parenting story.

Hi, I’m Linda. I’m a caring and compassionate doula dedicated to supporting families through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and early infancy. I believe that this journey is not only physical, but deeply emotional and mental as well, and I’m here to walk alongside the parent/parents through it all. I have extensive experience supporting inductions, as well as guiding families through the early days of infancy. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where parents feel heard, informed, and empowered. I’m passionate about helping parents understand their options, build confidence, and feel truly prepared for both birth and the transition into life with a new baby. Whether navigating pregnancy, preparing for labor, or adjusting to infancy, I’m here to offer guidance, encouragement, and education every step of the way as I believe every single parent whether first baby or 7th baby a doula is beneficial and every parent birth or not deserves that guidance.

I truly can’t recommend Linda enough! I hired her around the beginning of my second trimester, and she was such a wonderful source of support throughout the rest of my pregnancy journey. From helping me feel more informed and prepared for birth to answering my questions and talking through my concerns, Linda was always patient, supportive, and reassuring. She helped me better understand my options when it came to labor and delivery, talked with me about comfort and coping techniques, and made sure I felt confident making decisions that were right for me. One of the things I appreciated most was knowing I had someone I could reach out to when I had questions or simply needed reassurance. Pregnancy can come with so many emotions and uncertainties, and having that extra support made such a difference for me. Linda genuinely cares about the moms and families she works with, and I’m so grateful that she was part of my pregnancy journey. If you’re considering having a doula for prenatal, birth, or postpartum support, I absolutely recommend reaching out to her. ❤️

Hi New Parents & Returning Parents, My name is Anjanette Rebecca. I’m birth obsessed & I finally have the courage to admit it. I’m a little of a lot of things. I’m a full spectrum doula who supports families and individuals across all walks of life. From zygote to 130 years old. Reproductive health is who I am. Bodily autonomy is what I’ve supported since I was a child. I stepped into my mother’s shoes at an early age. My mother was the original reproductive health guru. My mom passed away before I had time to say goodbye. Grief became the catalyst that changed my life for the best. I meet Individuals and families that are kind enough to trust me with something so sacred. That will always be one of the biggest blessing in my life. I’ve cared for thousands of clients locally & internationally. My ultimate goal is YOU. Your family, your very valid fears, your tears & your happiness. I guide expectant families and individuals in embodying their role as the first teacher in their children’s life. Our body is our children’s first home, it will and always should be respected. Dads, that includes you. Your little one finds comfort in your presence before they’re even born. Your voice and kisses will be one of your child’s favorite things. My business & my baby, Birth & Beyond, NYC is an extension of my family; fellow educators like myself, with a combined 206 years of supporting vulnerable populations in New York City. In October 2026, I will celebrate 26 years in the healthcare industry, 18 years as a registered nurse. It’s an honor to be a part of birth, an intimate time for families to come together. I navigated my first pregnancy alone-there’s so much power in being a single parent too. I’m here to hold individuals & families through one of the most breathtaking and potentially chaotic moments of their lives. Parenthood is a massive upgrade and a heroic space to hold. Please don’t let the internet scare you. It scares me! But we have access to so much information. It is normal to feel overwhelmed by it. I pray that you enter pregnancy & your birth space with confidence. Tap me in if you need someone to kick the door off its hinges, metaphorically speaking of course :) As for me, I’m a Brooklyn native, currently enjoying life in Staten Island, NY. I spend most my time having juicy conversations, tending to 179 indoor plants, barefoot & not pregnant :) I spend time off social media, reading books and finding myself in nature. Currently a scuba diver who tried free diving for the first time in 2025. I’ve swam with sharks & I'm here to tell the story. Background: I offer virtual birth & postpartum doula support, Lamaze childbirth ed, Spinning Babies classes, babywearing education, prenatal & postpartum mental health assessments & continued support, trauma informed & culturally aware care, placenta encapsulation, somatic music therapy, reiki & early intervention referrals. I am a mama of 2 (of the best children), my womb held three. My arms held 2 older children too. At 24 years old I was in charge of a 6 person household & I pray I will never see math homework again. Joan Sherwood

I am Joan Sherwood, founder of Peaceful Beginnings To You. My calling to become a doula was born from a personal experience. During the birth of my child, I was left alone in a hospital room without any support. My spouse and brother were sent home because I was not in active labor. My water had broken, so I was admitted, and I faced the daunting process of labor alone, in a secluded area until it was time to push. This experience, where I delivered a 9 -pound, 2-ounce baby without my loved one's present, ignited my passion to ensure that no other person would have to endure such solitude. My journey as a doula began 25 years ago when I assisted a family member through labor. Since then, I have been a source of support and guidance for family and friends, which eventually led me to pursue certification as a birth doula through DONA International. I am deeply committed to holistic birth and postpartum care, and my extensive training reflects this dedication. My education includes a Family Development Credential, studies at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, the Center for Homeopathic Education, and the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences. I am also a certified Calm Birth Instructor, Infant Massage Instructor Trainer, Womb Sauna Practitioner, and have received postpartum training from Indigemama, BirthMama, Traditional Postpartum Practitioner, and Birth Arts International. My approach to doula care is centered on the needs of the laboring person. I come with no preconceived notions, and I remain as fluid and flexible as possible to meet the evolving needs of each individual. In addition, to running my private doula practice, I have provided doula care to underserved communities as a doula and doula mentor for a federally funded program in Brooklyn.

Joan was my doula for both my pregnancies, one in 2014 for my now 8 year old and again during the pandemic for my 2 year old. I highly recommend Joan she provided such consistent support during both pregnancy, while birthing and postpartum. I was so fortune because Joan is just naturally resourceful and intuitive and she was right by my side every step the way. To this day I consider her such an empowering and beautiful human being and I am thankful that she was with me on my journey into motherhood -- I would choose her again and again and again!!!

Destiny Torres

Hi! I’m Destiny, a birth doula who believes every mom and family deserves to feel supported, heard, and empowered throughout their birth journey. Before becoming a doula, I spent over two years working in Labor & Delivery as a phlebotomist, where I witnessed the strength of birthing families and discovered my passion for birth work. I support clients through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period, whether they’re planning a home birth or a hospital birth. My approach is holistic, compassionate, and centered around your unique goals. Outside of birth work, I love hiking, baking banana bread, and spending time in nature. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you welcome your little one into the world.

Throughout my entire pregnancy, I was super nervous and anxious because the thought of actually giving birth and delivering a child terrified me. A doula never really occurred to me as I never really knew what they were, until one of my coworkers who knew I was 5 months pregnant at the time brought up how she knew of a Doula. Destiny really explained to me what they do and the kinds of services a doula can provide, and it really interested me given through what I was going through during the time, . Working with her turned out to be one of the best decisions I made for me and my baby. From the very first meeting to our last, Destiny has been a pleasure to have as my doula and has made this process a lot lighter for me. She is a great person to talk to and ask any question to becuase she makes you feel comfortable and easy to talk to about any birth and post labor concerns. She provided a home cooked meal post labor and it was absolutely delicious ! But most importantly, she made every effort to ensure a safe space , and a memorable labor. when it was that time and I truly don't think it would've went the way it did had she not been my doula. Even after my son was born, she continued to check in on me, trying to just make sure I was adjusting well emotionally just as much as physically and that's how I know that she's someone who truly cares and has a love and passion to what she does. That meant so much to me because most people only focus on the baby and just forget about the mother lol, but she never forgot to remind me that the mom was just as important. More people would benefit from the services of a doula, especially her. If you're looking for someone who will treat you like family, I couldn't recommend her more. She is exactly the kind of person you want besides you during such a life changing experience.

Christina was absolutely amazing throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. She was always available when I needed her and made me feel incredibly supported and cared for. My birth ended up being very traumatic, and having Christina there as a source of comfort and support meant more to me than I can express. She continued to be there for me postpartum as well, always checking in and answering my questions. I’m so grateful she was part of my journey and would recommend her to any expecting mom.

Hi! I'm Lorraine. I'm a doula and lactation counselor. I'm also the founder of Repose Postpartum, a postpartum care company that focuses exclusively on recovery, newborn care, and breastfeeding. I've worked with about 300 families throughout NJ and NYC over the past 8 years. I encourage you to think of yourself as the CEO of your home, and to bring in a doula as a postpartum consultant who will help you navigate their new normal and help you start their parenthood journey on the right foundation. That looks like: • Ensuring that your physical and mental health is prioritized, as it's the foundation for your family's unit • Translating newborn care into systems that actually support rest and recovery • Guiding you on how to better understand and respond to your baby's cues and behavior • Providing breastfeeding counseling so that you can feel more informed and supported on how they feed their baby • Educating you on the intricacies of newborn sleep, and helping to implement gentle and realistic sleep routines. I accept most benefit programs offered by employers. I'd love to learn more about how my team and I can support you during the early postpartum period.

I can't recommend Repose Postpartum highly enough to any family looking for meaningful and professional postpartum support.
