Hello! My name is Kayla and I’m a DONA trained birth doula in the Chicagoland area. I primarily serve the northwestern suburbs but I’m willing to travel up to an hour. I have over 10 years of childcare experience with children ages newborn to 14 years old.

I have an immense love for the tiny humans of our world! It's the little scrunch of a newborn waking up, the babbling conversations, or the discovery of their fingers and toes. This stage of life is so precious that most parents miss a good portion of it because you are overwhelmed with the ins and outs of life. Once you spot those precious moments, the whole day reorganizes itself around them. Those are the kinds of things I teach, and it comes from being a preschool teacher prior to becoming a postpartum doula. Professionally, child development is where I come from. My role is not something I've picked up in a weekend workshop, but through years of experience and training. As your support system, I come in to engage with some of the following: take the night shift or the morning one, get you real sleep, help with feedings, put the kitchen back together, organize the baby's things, and help your older child figure out who they are now. What I don't do is judge how you feed your baby, tell you the "right" way to do anything, or leave you dependent on me. My postpartum doula practice operates in the Chicagoland area. You will receive help navigating the fourth trimester to build your confidence and ensure your baby's environment & developmental journey are actively fostering their cognitive, motor, and sensory skills from day one.

As a mother myself, I know first hand the value of kind and informed assistant in the days following the birth of a baby. I was blessed to have experienced support following the births of my now grown three children and know how valuable it is. I have provided support as a lactation consultant, doula and postpartum doula to many families. It is an honor to provide new parents with the help they need while adjusting to parenting a new born.

Hi! I'm Kristen. I am a graduate of Chamberlain University, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My nursing degree has taken me down a path I was destined to be on. I always knew I wanted to work with mothers and babies, and after graduation, I began working as a private nurse for postpartum families. I would be their support system during their personal postpartum journey while educating their entire family on how to navigate the new territory of bringing their baby (or babies!) home. It was during this time I learned how motherhood is such a beautiful experience, yet also one of the most difficult without the proper support system. I began to specialize in infant sleep and obtained my Pediatric Sleep Consultant certification through the Family Sleep Institute. I have worked with countless families in Chicago, as well as virtually, to help them find the rest their whole family needs in a way that works for them. I had a baby of my own last year, and being a mother myself has brought even more empathy and compassion into my work.

I began my career as a fulltime nanny for over 16 years however I have transitioned to serving as an overnight baby nurse presently for over 14 years. At this point in time, I am interested in continuing to further my career as a baby nurse and now most recently as a certified postpartum doula. In addition, I have well over thirty years total experience caring for newborns preemies and twins working with new parents. More specifically, my skills include fostering open communication, not only verbal but also keeping a baby log as well as promoting healthy sleep habits and providing guidance to parents on the best methods to regulate feeding, sleep training, bathing, etc. Although my resume is rather comprehensive, it cannot fully demonstrate the manner I have achieved success.
