Hi, I’m Maia! I’m a birth doula based in Los Angeles. My passion for women’s health began early, growing up in a household with three sisters and watching my mom complete her pediatric residency. After studying pre-med at Columbia University, I found my true calling in birthwork, becoming a doula so that I could provide unwavering support to women as they navigate the transformative steps of having a child. My approach is gentle, evidence-based, and rooted in listening. Every pregnancy and birth is unique, and I believe there’s no “right” way to move through the process. My role is to ensure that you are informed, supported, and advocated for, so that you can step into birth feeling grounded and have ownership over your journey. I also love taking pregnancy and birth photos for those who wish to document these special moments.

My childcare philosophy centers on creating a calm, loving, and supportive environment where both babies and parents can thrive. I believe that responsive, gentle care builds a foundation of trust and security for infants, while empowering parents with confidence and rest during the early days of parenthood. Every family is unique, and I approach each home with flexibility, empathy, and respect for individual values and rhythms. My goal is to nurture not just the baby. Still, the entire family unit, offering practical help, emotional reassurance, and peaceful routines that make the transition into new parenthood feel manageable and joyful.

As an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), CLC, and Certified Postpartum Doula, my passion lies in educating, supporting, and holding space for all parents of newborn(s), especially around feeding. My trainings and experience provide me the opportunity to teach prenatal classes for expecting parents, of which I usually do privately in-home, and counsel families 1:1 with lactation support. Some of my specialities and services revolve around my knowledge of how to build a lactation foundation in the early weeks, care for a newborn, support the parent(s) based on their individual needs, and create infant routines. I currently work as an educator teaching lactation foundation and newborn care prenatal classes, as a lactation consultant, and as a nighttime postpartum doula, and I love every second of it!

Juli is fully supportive and embraces all families of every shape, size, color, creed, background, belief, sexual or gender identity. You will find love and caring at Open Heart Midwifery. Upon availability, you may hire the midwife to support you overnight during the postpartum period. Juli brings a wealth of experience with both singletons and multiples and can help families get a good night's sleep. She can also assist with feeding/nursing and newborn care skills. My name is Tina Louise and I love supporting families around their birth experience. I'm passionate about birth and working to improve birth outcomes in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. I attended my first birth at the age of 16 years in a homebirth community and knew this was a calling for me. I attended home births, birth centers and hospital births, and finally decided to become certified as a Doula in 2014. I have volunteered with Joy in Birthing Foundation, worked as a private doula under Doula Sisters LA and began with SBCC a as a Community-based Doula in 2018. I am experienced in all forms of doula support, Lactation, Childbirth Education, Spinning Babies, Placenta Encapsulation, Infant Massage and a Reiki II practitioner. I am currently only taking at risk clients for doula support through SBCC and providing birth placenta encapsulation, Spinning Babies classes and Reiki II sessions to Southwest Los Angeles, Long Beach and surrounding cities.
