Hello My name is Marlene Solorio I fully and wholeheartedly trust that you can give birth naturally, because GOD designed women and babies to work together during birth. You are a powerful human and GOD designed you perfectly. So deep down inside you know exactly what to do. I love helping moms find the confidence to birth autonomously through education and empowerment. After my 3 unnecessary cesareans, I decided to become a doula. When I found out I was pregnant with my 4th I told myself I was going to have a natural birth, even though every doctor and midwife in my area told me I couldn't. And boy did I prove them wrong with my VBA3C. So that's why I'm here, I want to help you have a beautiful empowering birth like I did. I know it's possible because I just did it!

What to expect

I offer birth/postpartum doula support I attend all types of birth and all locations including free birth. I also offer placenta encapsulation and childbirth education. As a doula I will be there to advocate for you and to offer my support. A main goal is to discuss your birth options and work to create a birth vision and written plan. Other topics of discussion include hospital protocols, your birth rights (as I have extensive knowledge on birthrights), your partner’s role, and emotional processing that is coming up as the birth gets closer. As it gets closer to the big day you will feel so confident in you choices. During labor we will work to keep you comfortable through various relaxation techniques, changing positions, creating a calm and quiet atmosphere, and more. As a doula, I can help prepare you for your birth and can cover how you are feeling on all levels, how you are eating, drinking, and moving your body, any complaints or issues you’re experiencing, and any topics that are feeling relevant to you.

I reached out to Marlene a few months before my planned July birth. She was wonderful from the beginning, providing me with information and also supporting my personal choices with the birth. In the end, I had to have an induction due to unforeseen medical issues. Marlene was responsive via text, which I appreciated and was necessary as the baby came within 24 hours. It was late when I texted her that the baby was coming, and thankfully, she responded right away. She came quickly and was there for the active labor portion of the birth. I appreciated her support and advocacy very much. Afterward, she provided postpartum support, which was invaluable as it allowed me time to catch up on sleep. She also created a beautiful artprint of my placenta and also created a resin umbilical cord ornament that will be a treasured memory for years to come. Marlene is wonderful, and I highly recommend her.
