Hello, my name is Martha J. I am a Certified Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) with over 24 years of hands-on experience supporting families since 2000. I am deeply drawn to this work because I value the family environment and the critical role of care during the earliest days after birth. I provide emotional and practical support to parents both individually and as a couple, helping them navigate the transition with confidence and calm. Supporting mothers during the first weeks postpartum is a true calling for me. Caring for the newborn while parents recover from the long, demanding hours of labor, whether in a hospital setting or following a home birth, is work I find meaningful. I am experienced in breastfeeding support, including baby latching, milk production, expression, safe milk storage, and bottle feeding. I closely monitor the baby’s well-being, bringing the baby to the mother for feedings, changing diapers, swaddling, and supporting healthy sleep routines. I maintain clear daily communication with parents regarding their baby’s care and development. Additional responsibilities include washing pump accessories and bottles, wipes and diapers, diaper cream, etc., refills, light nursery tidying, and newborn laundry. My goal is to create a stable, supportive environment in which both parents and baby can rest, recover, and bond.
