About me

Hola! I’m Micaela López, a doula with over 7 years of experience walking alongside families on their sacred birthing journey. Before stepping into birth work, I spent 15 years as an educator in both public and private schools. In 2018, I followed the call of my soul into the path of birth and trained as a birth doula with Doula Love in Portland. Since then, I’ve deepened my practice through midwifery assistant training with the Center for Indigenous Midwifery in Washington and a transformative year-long apprenticeship with midwife Cosima. These experiences have gifted me both modern and ancestral tools to support women with presence, compassion, and care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It is my honor to walk beside you—holding space, offering guidance, and honoring the sacredness of every step on your birthing journey.

Closing of the Bones Ceremony / Ceremonia de Cierre de Cadera
The Closing of the Bones ceremony is a deeply meaningful postpartum tradition that honors and supports the profound transition a woman undergoes after giving birth. Rooted in the wisdom of ancestral cultures, this ritual helps bring physical, emotional, and spiritual closure to the birthing process. Through gentle wrapping, massage, and intentional touch, the ceremony provides the mother with a sense of containment, grounding, and restoration, inviting her body to realign and her spirit to integrate the immense experience of bringing new life into the world. Beyond physical healing, Closing of the Bones creates a sacred space for acknowledgment, release, and nourishment, reminding mothers that they, too, deserve care, reverence, and renewal during this tender chapter.
