Fourth Trimester Doc® was established to address a crucial need in postpartum health by offering integrative, specialized care for birthing people and their infants in the comfort of their own homes. We provide more in-depth assessments that are outside of the scope of lactation consultants. We provide in-home lactation consultations for families in the Twin Cities, and virtual consultations for anyone nationwide and even internationally!

Infant Feeding/Breastfeeding & Lactation Medicine Consultations
Our physicians are Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine Specialists who have the most advanced training in lactation complications and complex medical conditions as they relate to lactation. We provide more in-depth assessments that are outside of the scope of lactation consultants. Services include general lactation support; frenotomy/tongue-tie release for tethered oral tissue; help with nipple pain, sores, breast pain, clogged ducts, and recurrent breast inflammation or mastitis; guidance when laboratory or imaging studies are needed; evaluation of underlying or complex medical concerns; support when a procedure or medication may affect lactation; jaundice management; re-lactation and inducing lactation; treatment with OMT/CST (osteopathic manipulation and craniosacral therapy); and more personalized care based on your family’s needs. In-Home Visit: ​$197 with partial insurance* / $397 without insurance *Partial insurance is provided through Wildflower Health and The Lactation Network (TLN). If your insurance is through Cigna or HealthPartners, we recommend checking coverage with Wildflower Health. All other insurance plans should check coverage with TLN.
