In 2021, I was pregnant with my second kiddo and excited to welcome another baby at Bella Vie in Salem. I met Amanda at my second or third appointment and immediately knew she was the midwife for me. She was incredibly easy to talk to, clear about what we were looking for at each appointment and why, and always had thoughtful answers and advice regarding any questions or concerns I brought up. As a huge bonus, my 3-year-old loved her! The day I gave birth, Amanda was exactly where I needed her, when I needed her. She offered tailored support through gentle guidance and confident reminders that I was safe and so very capable. My first few postpartum hours were also a breeze because of Amanda- both my baby and I were helped to rest and closely monitored for proper signs of healing. Every question and concern was met with knowledgeable, timely care. She is an amazing human being and midwife, and I honestly cannot recommend her enough ♡

Nicolette at Birthstone Midwifery was exceptional. She was always responsive, reassuring, and someone we fully trusted throughout the entire pregnancy. There were moments where we had real concerns, and she consistently brought clarity and calm when we needed it most. When it came time for the birth at our home, she showed up quickly, was highly professional, and supported my wife in a way that made the whole experience go really well. Amanda was also wonderful when she was with us. Steady, supportive, and a great complement to the care we received. As the husband, I can say they made a huge difference in how confident and supported we both felt. We ended up with a healthy baby and were tucked into bed with our son right after birth, which was exactly what we hoped for. Couldn’t recommend them more.

If you're looking for a home birth midwife or natural birth support in the Willamette Valley or Portland area, Nicolette is incredible. I just can't recommend her enough. She was my midwife for my first son in November 2023 at the Corvallis Birth Center, and she really made the difference in how that birth went. I wanted a vaginal birth without intervention, and I pushed for a very long time - in most other settings, I would've been pressured into interventions I didn't want. But Nicolette stayed calm and patient. She never rushed me and let the process unfold naturally while making sure we were both safe. That patience was everything. Beyond the birth itself, Nicolette is incredibly organized (which is so important for prenatal visits especially). Her prenatal and postpartum care were fantastic—she answered every question, helped with lactation, and never made me feel rushed (even helped me file my baby's fingernails lol). She's on top of the latest research and evidence-based practices as well. Here's the thing that really shows who she is: when I was overdue with my second son in July 2025 (with a different midwife as she hadn't started her home birth practice yet), Nicolette came over on her own time just to check on me, assess baby's position, and reassure me. She genuinely cared about me and my baby even though she wasn't my midwife for that birth. She genuinely cares so much. Nicolette now does home birth through Birthstone Midwifery and Wellness serving the Willamette Valley and Portland. She has experience in both birth centers and home births, and honestly, she's just one of the best. I would absolutely use her again. Can't recommend enough!

Amanda was my midwife/ NP for years for well-woman care before my first pregnancy, so having her walk with me through my first pregnancy was such a gift. Her calm, steady presence and the way she truly listened made me feel safe and seen every step of the way, especially as a nervous first time mama. Nicolette was one of my amazing midwives at my daughter’s birth — I’ll never forget how encouraging, kind, and incredibly present she was in every moment. She also supported me through the grief of a miscarriage a couple years later, offering such compassion and care that helped me mentally and emotionally process that loss in a way I’ll always be grateful for. Together, they’re everything you hope for in a birth team: knowledgeable/experienced, grounded, compassionate, and deeply invested in you as a whole person, not just a patient. They celebrate with you, advocate for you, and carry so much respect for the beauty of birth and motherhood. I felt so heard, so cared for, and I truly can’t imagine walking that journey with anyone else. I’m endlessly thankful for them and would recommend them a thousand times over.
