Growing up as the middle child of six the topic of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding was never something I had to wonder about. I watched my mother grow my younger siblings and got to witness the incredible bond she had with them as she breastfed them. I always knew I wanted to be surrounded by the birth space whether it be my own or someone else’s. Twenty-something years later…here I am! Welcome to my corner of the internet- I’m Kyra. I’m a wife, mother of two beautiful girls and birth obsessed! In Kindergarten, my teacher assigned our class an art project that I would remember forever- to draw a picture of what we wanted to be when we grew up. The other kids drew pictures of firefighters, teachers, doctors and police officers. I drew a picture of myself in a wedding dress! I knew that I wanted to get married and have babies and take care of my own home. I wanted to be my mom! Not long before I got married I found the picture I drew and wished I could have told little six-year-old me that I would get to be exactly what I wanted. After being told I would probably never be able to conceive and carry my own babies I fell pregnant. I was able to grow and birth that baby, I felt so blessed! Fast forward another nine months and I’m pregnant again- an even bigger surprise. I was able to grow and carry and birth that baby too. I was fortunate enough to have two very healthy pregnancies and was able to have unmedicated water births in a freestanding birth center. After my first birth, I decided to stop making excuses and pursue something I’m passionate about. That brought me here to you. It’s such a privilege that I get to be a role-model for my daughters in this way. I get to raise them knowing that birth is normal and isn’t something to be feared. I get the privilege of supporting the strongest women as they grow and birth their babies. I am so grateful to do this work. Thanks for being here.

Kyra was our doula for pregnancy and birth. She provided us with so much knowledge and care! She stepped in for birth classes, answered all questions I had, and made me feel confident to birth my baby. She stayed by my side the entire duration of my very very long labor and was so supportive!

Hi, I'm Alysha! I am a Certified Birth Doula serving the St. Louis area. I believe that every woman should feel empowered to have the birth experience she desires while staying safe and healthy. Having attended both medicated and unmedicated births, I know there is beauty in every kind of birth, and I consider it an honor to be present for each and every one! I am certified through DONA International. I have also received training from Spinning Babies, Evidence-Based Birth, the VBAC Link, and Gena Kirby's Rebozo Course. If you choose me as your doula, you can be assured you will have a knowledgeable support person with you, not only at your birth, but throughout your entire pregnancy!

If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should hire Alysha, climb over that fence! She was absolutely monumental during the birth of our daughter. This was our first baby, and Alysha guided us literally step by step, starting weeks before birth with preparation, exercises, stretches, and affirmations. She was also on call for us the entire week leading up to delivery and, of course, was right there with us in the room (and shower!) when it was finally go time. Our birth plan unexpectedly shifted to an induction, and Alysha was incredible at helping my husband and me understand our options and navigate each decision along the way. During labor, she provided constant physical and emotional support, coaching us through every contraction. She helped us stay calm, confident, and focused, and played a huge role in helping us achieve the unmedicated birth we had hoped for. I’ll admit that my husband was initially on the fence about having a doula, too. After our experience, we both agree that we cannot imagine going through birth without Alysha. She was knowledgeable, encouraging, compassionate, and such a steady presence throughout the entire process and helped give him just as much confidence and reassurance too. We are so grateful for everything she did for our family and would recommend Alysha to anyone preparing for birth!

Hello! I'm a specialized postpartum doula with a passion for holistic well-being and a heart committed to supporting mothers on their unique journeys. My approach to postpartum care is a blend of researched practices and traditions that promote both physical and mental healing. My belief is simple yet profound – healing involves the mind, body, and soul, nurtured through compassionate support, nourishing food, and the space to rest. I am dedicated to helping moms recover faster, become stronger, and feel their absolute best, empowering them to be the best parents they can be. My personal postpartum struggles guided me on my path into the world of postpartum care. Turning my challenges into an opportunity to support others, I am dedicated to meeting moms where they are in their postpartum journey and helping them achieve their goals. I've learned a lot of practical knowledge through my postpartum journeys – breastfeeding all three of my children, tandem nursing twins, using cloth diapers, creating homemade baby food, and embracing baby wearing, that I am eager to share. I love helping moms integrate these practices into their lives. I am passionate about holistic practices, but am also comfortable around modern medicine. My approach is rooted in understanding and respecting each family's choices. My strengths shine brightest when engaging with mothers – whether it's during heartfelt conversations, changing diapers, or bringing nourishing meals. I hope to create a calming, caring, and supportive space that shines light on the path of each mother I have the opportunity to support.

Marisol was the most knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful doula one could ask for. She was there for me most my pregnancy and in labor. Whenever I had questions, especially being a first pregnancy she always had answers and gave me peice of mind. I had horrible back pain and she suggested several stretches and exercises that I could do on my own and some that my husband could help with and they were really helpful in relieving pregnancy pains. My labor started right when she finished with another labor and she was there for me full of energy. She would ask the nurse to bring me items like a peanut ball, a mirror, or dimming the lights to help me get though labor pains and to feel as comfortable as possible. She always had a very calm voice and touch. I would highly recommend using Marisol as your doula. There is so much information and helpful tips she as a doula will provide for pregnancy, labor, post partum and breastfeeding that is not provided by your OBGYN

Nyamuoch Miak Birth & Postpartum Doula My name is Nyamuoch Miak, and I own Mama Seed Doula, LLC. I serve the Johnson County, Cedar Rapids, and William Burge area. I am married and blessed with four beautiful children. I have over ten years of experience working with children in school and childcare settings. I am drawn to birth work because of my passion for assisting birth parents and my love for newborns. I enjoy educating, supporting, connecting, and learning from parents and their newborns as they discover each other's needs and wants. I put birthing parents at the center of their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I listen and provide the physical, emotional, and educational support parents need to navigate the transition into parenthood confidently. I aim to give birthing parents and their families my undivided attention and the knowledge they need to make informed decisions unique to them. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, teaching my native language to my children, crocheting, and volunteering at our local church. My husband and I share a happy, busy life with our family and friends, and I love sharing our Sudanese cuisine with everyone!

We were incredibly lucky to have Nyamuoch for six weeks of postpartum night visits, and I can confidently say we could not have gotten through that time without her. As a second-time parent, I knew how challenging the postpartum period could be, which made Nyamuoch’s ability to put me completely at ease from our very first conversation especially meaningful. While I initially wondered how it would feel having someone in our home at night, her calm, reassuring presence immediately made me feel safe and supported, and I trusted her completely with my son, which is something I do not say lightly. Because of her, I got the most restful and restorative sleep I had postpartum, knowing my son was being cared for with such attentiveness, gentleness, and skill. She has an extraordinary way with babies and seemed to instinctively know exactly what he needed. Beyond that, she is a true wealth of knowledge, always offering thoughtful guidance, reassurance, and practical tips. She was also consistently reliable, thoughtful, and deeply professional in every interaction. Her care didn’t just help at night. It allowed me to show up as a better, more present parent during the day for my toddler. The difference that made for our entire family truly cannot be overstated. What stood out most was how deeply she cared, not just for our baby but for me as well. Even during a vulnerable and emotional time, she brought so much warmth and lightness. We shared so many laughs, and I genuinely looked forward to every visit with her. Nyamuoch played a huge role in making our second postpartum experience beautiful. Our family is better for having had her during that time, and I am endlessly grateful for her. I could not recommend her more highly.

If your on the fence about getting a Doula for your birth I 100% recommend Taylor. I was having a hard time finding a doula and was honestly ready to give up. When Taylor reached out to me I already gave up hope on having a doula. I decided to give the doula dream one more try and I'm so happy that I did! Taylor was super friendly and made the process very easy. She was there for all my questions and was super supportive. By the time it was time to give birth she already felt like a sister. She was super supportive and helped ease my fear of going into labor. Then going into labor she was there every second for me. Very selfless, encouraging and wise. I know I could of had this baby without her but... In my mind there is no way I could of done it without her. I'm pretty sure she's one of the reasons my labor went so fast. Definitely will be texting Taylor two pink lines in the future if I'm ever blessed again. I wouldn't want to go into labor with out her and you shouldn't either.♥️
