Klarity is a healer in the traditional sense of the word. Thanks to their caring questions and intuition, they deeply understood my husband and me and tailored our birthing classes and hypnotherapy sessions accordingly. Not only did they prepare us for birth, but for parenting itself. Thanks to our work together, I had the calm, empowered birth I hoped for. They were the best doula we could have asked for! In addition to their technical skill and training as a doula, they are also a gifted energy worker. Time after time, they helped us shift energy into more positive, value-driven directions, in the birthing classes as well as in the delivery room. In Klarity’s hands you will experience deep care and wise advocacy.

I am a full-spectrum doula trained by Doula Trainings International (DTI) and hold a Bachelor's degree from San Jose State University. After experiencing the challenges new parents face firsthand with the arrival of my own two children, I dedicated myself to improving support for families during this transformative time. I firmly believe in the power of community, as captured by the phrase “it takes a village.” I am committed to being that supportive presence for your family, guiding you through every aspect of the birth, labor, and postpartum experience.

Sarah was an unwavering source of support during one of the most physically and emotionally challenging experiences of my life. After choosing to have an at-home abortion, I found myself in the hospital due to unmanageable pain and later faced complications and prolonged bleeding for over two months. Through it all, Sarah was there—offering not just physical comfort, but deep emotional and mental support. She provided reassurance when I felt scared, advocated for me when I felt unheard, and helped me navigate the overwhelming aftermath with patience and compassion. Her presence was a lifeline, creating a safe space where I could process my emotions without judgment. Whether it was through gentle encouragement, grounding techniques, or simply holding space for my emotions, Sarah made sure I never felt alone in my healing process. I am beyond grateful for her kindness, knowledge, and unwavering care during such a difficult time.

I believe every birthing person should have the right to a trauma free birth experience, where their beliefs, values and goals are heard and respected. Birthing bodies are powerful. My goal as a doula is to remind you of the power you hold. I have worked in the medical field for 13 years as a Certified Medical Assistant, Lead Medical Assistant Instructor, recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and gained Certification as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. I am a very motivated and determined person. As a dedicated mother and proud African American woman, my heart is deeply rooted in the wellbeing of our community. The glaring disparities in maternal health that disproportionately affect women of color are not just statistics to me; they are urgent calls to action that resonate with my own experiences and those of my loved ones. I am committed to leveraging my knowledge, resources, and voice to initiate and support sustainable changes within the healthcare system. My goal is to ensure that equitable, high-quality maternal care is not a privilege, but a standard afforded to all mothers, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Through community outreach, advocacy, and education, I strive to contribute to a world where maternal mortality in underserved communities is not a grim expectation but a rare exception. My mission is to fight for a future where every mother’s life is given the value it unequivocally deserves.

https://www.doulatalia.com/ Hello and Welcome! My name is Doula Talia, providing birth and postpartum services throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. I transitioned away from a delightful 20+ year profession in healthcare management and chose to train as a doula, a career where I can nurture my path of service to others. I believe how we give and show up in the world is how we receive. My natural desire to build community and connect with others brings me here today. Part of my role as a doula is empowering families by listening to their birth goals and holding space for them to make informed decisions. My goal is that the birthing person and team feel confident and grounded. Everyone has an inner self-power that can ignite in all situations! I am the friend one calls when they need a calm, centering voice of reassurance. My greatest joy is that I am a mother to my favorite human beings. My experience of motherhood and being an aunt of 10 adds another essential layer of depth to my work as a birth and postpartum care doula. Please contact me directly at “doulatalia.sf@gmail.com” Looking forward to connecting with you soon!

I worked with Talia through out my pregnancy, birth and postpartum period, and I am so grateful for her support. She truly works from the hear, which is something you don't come across often. Talia consistently went above and beyond her role, always making sure I felt comfortable, informed and supported. Her presence during such an important time felt more like having a sister by my side than just a professional. I would absolutely recommend Talia to anyone looking for a caring, dedicated and compassionate doula.

I cannot recommend Sabrina enough as a birth doula! She brought so much support, calmness, and clarity to my birth experience. During the first half of my pregnancy, I kept going back and forth on getting a doula or not. When I met Sabrina at the GGDA doula meet and greet, I knew I wanted to work with her right away. Her ability to explain the birth experience, her support, and overall clear communication put me at ease. During one of our prenatal appointments she walked me through all the options for my birth preferences. She was very knowledgeable about all my options, but not pushy in any way. I really appreciated her ability to explain what the options were, why people may prefer them, and then how she would support me with each option. I really didn't have too many strong opinions going in, so this was incredibly helpful for me to reflect on what I wanted, without feeling any pressure. I ended up going into labor 2.5 weeks early and the process moved much faster than expected for a first time mom. The moment Sabrina stepped into the hospital room, she jumped into action and I immediately thought "omg, best decision ever to work with Sabrina and have a doula, I'm so happy she's here." I had such a positive birth experience, and I attribute a lot of that to Sabrina. Prior to have a doula and going through birth, I had a hard time comprehending the experience and how a doula would support me. I think the easiest way to explain is to share some highlights of her amazing work with me and my husband: At the hospital: * TENS, heat packs, and hands on pressure to alleviate contraction pain/discomfort. She actually got the TENS machine and heat packs on me within 30 seconds of being in the room. My labor progressed very quickly and this physical support felt amazing. * Helped me get and stay in position while getting the epidural, which was challenging with active contractions. The epidural process went very quickly for me because I had her helping me work through the contractions while having to stay still * Checked in with my husband as we prepared for the transition from active labor to pushing. I loved that he got some personal attention while everything moved really quickly around us. * Multiple nurses and doctors recognized her from previous births and were all happy to work with her again. She actively collaborated with them all throughout the birth. (This was at SF Kaiser) * While I pushed she counted, gave breathing reminders, and worked with the nurse to move me into position since I had an epidural * Stayed during golden hour to support with first latch and make sure we were all ok. Gave hands on support to help with latching. * Took AMAZING pictures right after the birth of my child on my chest for the first time and first skin-to-skin with my husband. I didn't even know I wanted these pictures, but I feel so grateful to have them. She really captured the moment in a non-intrusive way, and I'll cherish these photos forever. At home follow up: * We had to triple feed due to my son loosing a lot of weight within 24 hours. We were in the thick of newborn sleeplessness and our appointment with her brought us so much relief. She helped us with paced bottle feeding which was a huge game changer during time consuming triple feeding. * I was really frustrated with the hospital pump, she helped me with flange sizing and just affirmed a lot of my frustration. * Reviewed sustainable options for feeding and our own sleeping * Reviewed my own recovery and helped me prioritized my own healing, which can feel so hard when you are also a new parent I felt so supported by Sabrina throughout my birth experience, I don't think I can fully explain it in writing! Having a doula felt so abstract to me while pregnant, but I kept reading about the studies that show positive outcomes of working with a doula, including decreased chances of further medical intervention. This felt hard to understand until I actually experienced it. My husband and I had someone we trusted with us for the whole birth experience, who knew us and knew what I wanted. Nurses changed during their shifts and I had a doctor at the delivery I'd never met before. But having Sabrina as the constant, was so assuring, calming, and supportive. If you are looking for a birth doula I HIGHLY recommend Sabrina, especially if you want someone thorough, calm, knowledgeable, and who will support whatever type of birth you are hoping to have.

My husband and I will forever be grateful to Janay for helping us get through the first few months of a newborn! Janay brought expertise, warmth, and patience to her role as a nighttime doula. She answered our manyyy questions and helped us make decisions. It was such a blessing to get some more sleep while feeling confident that our little one was in good and loving hands with Janay. And outside the direct care she gave, she was a great communicator and always punctual. Thank you, Janay!
