It was this experience that fueled her desire to do something more for mothers. One of her main objectives is to enable parents to feel a sense of reassured confidence as mothers embark upon one of the most significant, bonding experiences they will have with their child. As an award-winning Labor & Delivery Nurse and Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), her dynamic background gives her the ability to navigate through the certainties and uncertainties of the lactation process. Naiomi is one of less than a handful of practitioners in Austin, Texas who has completed the IBCLC Masterclass. This masterclass is an international course taught from a holistic perspective and focuses on supporting the habilitation of the breastfeeding dyad in overcoming oral dysfunction such as tongue-tie. With this knowledge, she is able to help parents work through feeding difficulties that are less obvious and often misunderstood. In addition to standard IBCLC education, Naiomi has taken the in-person, TOTS training course aka tongue tie. As Naiomi continues to expand the Milk Diva team, she is very deliberate with her selection of consultants. I am a mother of three beautiful boys that each met with their own set of feeding challenges. I have personally experienced many unique breastfeeding obstacles including challenges related to prematurity, pain, over and under supply, mastitis, feeding confusion, supply, pumping, and more. I am a clinically trained and internationally board-certified lactation consultant and former NICU provider with over 19 years of experience. I LOVE empowering families on their feeding journey. I believe every family deserves to have support that is as unique as they are. My style of working with families is tailored to whole-person and family care with an integrative health lens.

Hi everyone! I’m Megan, and I lead Rooted Birth. I have been a doula and childbirth educator in the San Antonio area since 2017. I am also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and I’m studying for my board certification as a lactation consultant. I have a husband, 3 kids, one cat (who we named Albus Dumbledore because of his white beard), and an Aussiedoodle named Zoey. If I’m not working or hanging out with my family, you’ll find me listening to podcasts and audiobooks, practicing pottery, watching reality TV, or doing yoga. I also fancy myself one day winning Star Baker on The Great British Bake-Off. But I’m not British, so that’s one hurdle!
