I’ve had the privilege of working with Lateesha for two of my pregnancies, and I can’t imagine going through the journey without her! From the start, Lateesha’s calming energy and deep knowledge reassured me, even during moments of doubt or fear. With my first experience, she was a lifesaver—helping me navigate the unknowns of labor with her soothing techniques and constant encouragement. I didn’t hesitate to call her for my second pregnancy, and once again, she exceeded all expectations. Lateesha’s support during labor was unmatched—she was my rock and advocate, and I’m forever grateful for her care. If you’re considering hiring a doula, look no further than Lateesha!

Hi I'm Natalie. I am so glad that you're here! I am a board certified lactation consultant and mother of two. My passion is helping families feed their babies and navigate the journey into motherhood. My approach is simple, I meet families where they are at and then I help them grow their vision to meet their feeding goals. Each family is unique and I take care to honor their choices and paths to success. Success looks different for everyone. To me success is achieving a goal, even if it changes along the way, and overcoming challenges and obstacles that might come up. I look forward to working with new families and babies everyday and hope to see you soon!
working with Natalie from newborn to over one year has been absolutely invaluable in supporting both me and my baby through the journey of breastfeeding. In those first few days after birth I was at my wits end and in so much pain. She helped me with latch techniques, ensuring my baby was feeding effectively, and addressed any initial challenges like nipple pain, burping and even went over my pump parts to ensure it fit my breast properly. She also educated me on recognizing my baby's feeding cues and offered many solutions for managing issues with my milk production and ensuring my baby was gaining weight. As my baby grew, the consultants continued to guide me through feeding schedules, my transition to working full time and being away from my baby, milk storage, and challenges like teething and growth spurts that sometimes disrupted feeding. She also supported me in transitioning to solid foods when we felt ready and educated me on choking and signs to look for and showing me how to balance breastfeeding with introducing new foods. Throughout the year, her emotional support and expert advice gave me the knowledge and confidence to meet my breastfeeding goals even when I felt this journey was near impossible due to my lack of supply.

I am Whitney and pregnancy and motherhood have changed me forever in a million beautiful ways. After years of knowing I wanted to be a healer, I earned a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of New Mexico with the original intention of going to medical school afterwards. I became disenchanted with the medical field and then became a yoga teacher and yoga studio owner as I was searching for how to fulfill my calling in integrity. Birth work finally found me after I became a mother myself and this has become my focus! Within the same year of giving birth, I became a certified doula. I am a lifelong learner who is continuing independent midwifery studies and who is in the middle of Birthkeeping school with Whapio of La Matrona. I have much to offer in my service including with yoga, meditation, essential oils, herbal remedies, homeopathy, and deep anatomical understanding. The biggest thing I want to help women with is learning how to dream big when it comes to their labors and then giving women the tools to make that dream become a bit more possible as a birth coach, educator, and doula/Birthkeeper. I recently had a very blissful labor journey with my second baby and I can't wait to help other women find similarly blissful/orgasmic/ecstatic births of their own!
While I was pregnant we discussed labor plans. Whitney helped me to understand the hormones at play while in labor and how to naturally increase them for a smoother labor experience. Then we rated things I wanted, things I was willing to try, and things I wanted to avoid. She also gave me resources to address my questions regarding pregnancy and labor. When I went into labor, she gave me ideas of things to do while at home. As the labor progressed, she met me at the hospital and continued to give ideas. When I was tired and about to vary from my original wishes, she gave additional ideas to cope with the intensity of labor and left the choice up to me. I was able to give birth without an epidural and she helped me to establish breastfeeding. I have since moved away from the area she services, but I would definitely hire a doula again after this experience.

My name is Kim Racette. I have been a certified birth doula since 2010 and founder and teacher of Faithful Beginnings Birth Class. I feel honored and blessed by God to have been put on this path. I rejoice in childbirth, and I want all birthing stories to be good. My dream is that our grand-daughters and great-grand-daughters will come to have only positive stories of birth. Stories of strength and courage, stories of beauty and joy, stories that will empower them to have wonderful births of their own.
Kim is AMAZING!!! She supported my partner and I through the birth of our first child. She was always available to provide support and answer any questions or concerns during my pregnancy. During labor and birth, she was a source of constant assurance and calm. I cannot put into words how vital Kim was to our positive experience. I had the exact birth I wanted and Kim made sure that happened. She also provided placenta encapsulation services which were great. Kim is a fantastic doula, I cannot recommend her enough.

The UNMH Volunteer Birth Companion Program provides volunteer doulas to all families birthing at UNM Hospital. We believe that all families have the right to excellent emotional, mental and physical support while welcoming a child into the world. The birth justice-focused program aims to provide respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental care. We acknowledge the diversity of people and their reproductive choices and experiences. Through our work, we hope to improve birth experiences and lessen health disparities in maternity care. We are hospital volunteers who can be with you when you are in labor, when you are giving birth, and immediately afterwards. We provide physical, emotional and informational support. During labor, we can help you get the information you want and understand what medical providers are saying, including what procedures are being suggested. We also help with pain management by assisting with position changes, providing counter pressure and massage, help with breathing techniques, relaxation, visualization and more. Your birth companion can help you feel more comfortable by getting you warm blankets, a birth ball and things to eat and drink, as appropriate. We do not take the place of partners, family or friends. We help them support you. We usually stay for about an hour after you give birth. During that time, we can help with early breastfeeding We also provide support while you are pregnant by offering a prenatal meeting with one of our birth companions. We will talk to you about what you want for your labor. We can talk about pain management, common procedures and what to expect when you are on the Labor and Delivery floor.

Hi! I'm Kate Buckles. Thanks for visiting my page! I'm a Midwestern girl with a love for people and photography. Although I'm not a native New Mexican, this place has really grown on me. When I'm not running in the bosque or chasing after my boys, I'm out taking photos of life's most beautiful moments for my clients. I'm so honored you've considered me to do the same for you. I've always loved photography and that love grew when I had babies of my own. I wanted to document every moment with my little darlings and realized that most mamas do too. Shout out to the borderline obsessed mamas with no remaining iPhone memory because you have 1000s of photos of your precious babies that you just can't seem to part with.We cherish these moments because they go by so quickly. As your photographer, I want to capture the laughs, the smiles, the joy, the tears...all of it. I'm all about creating an amazing experience and having fun along the way. Thank you for letting me capture your life's most beautiful moments. Love, Kate
