About Sarah

Hello everyone, my name is Sarah and I am a doula with a background in Montessori Education, ten years of experience as a teacher and nanny, and special interests in the spiritual dimension of birth and trauma-informed care and mental health and wellness in the inter-partum period. I gave birth to my two precious children in 2022 and 2025, and it was after my first birth that I realized I have an enormous amount of energy for and desire to participate in birth work. There is no doubt in my mind after experiencing it myself that birth belongs to the realm of the sacred. I aim to build a doula practice that helps birthing people cross the profound physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual thresholds during labor that are meant to prepare and initiate them into the new role that awaits them after their child’s birth. My favorite things to do when I’m not busy are doing literally anything with my children, exploring in nature, reading memoirs, writing poetry, and drinking a cup of tea or coffee while petting my kitties in the stillness of the morning before my day begins.

What to expect

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am so excited for you as you prepare to welcome your little one. My name is Sarah Barron, and I am a student birth and postpartum doula at Sacred Labors. My mission is to provide emotionally-attuned, evidence-based, and judgment-free support to help you feel empowered, secure, and connected through labor and early parenthood. Every family’s journey is unique, which is why I tailor my support to your specific needs and goals. I typically help families with: • Prenatal Preparation: Creating your birth preferences, practicing comfort measures, and navigating options. • Continuous Labor Support: Providing physical comfort, emotional reassurance, and advocacy throughout your entire labor. • Postpartum Care: Assisting with newborn care, lactation or feeding support, emotional processing, and household care. Wherever you plan to give birth and whatever choices about intervention you make along the way, it is my goal to hold space for you as the birthing person first and foremost. I would love to treat you to a complimentary, low-pressure 15-minute consultation (via FaceTime or phone) to hear about your vision for your birth and see if we are aligned in such a way that my support will be a valuable asset to your experience.
