Hi, I’m Shaniya, a certified birth doula, postpartum doula, and postpartum depression advocate based in NYC. At my core, I’m someone who leads with compassion, patience, and understanding. I believe in making people feel heard, supported, and safe enough to be themselves without fear of judgment. I strive to be someone others can lean on, whether they need reassurance, a listening ear, or simply someone to be present. That same heart is what I bring into my work with birthing families. My passion for doula care comes from knowing that becoming a parent is about so much more than bringing a baby into the world. As a postpartum depression advocate, I’m passionate about creating space for honest conversations about maternal mental health and reminding mothers that their feelings matter, too. My philosophy is “Every parent deserves to feel safe and seen, not just in the beautiful moments, but in the moments when they need a little extra care.” You don’t have to carry it alone.

3-hour minimum Individual postpartum visits for families who need extra hands, reassurance, and guidance. The Gentle Beginning offers personalized, in home postpartum support for mothers and families who need an extra set of hands, guidance, and reassurance as they navigate life with their new baby. Support includes hands on newborn care assistance, diapering, dressing, burping, soothing, feeding education, breastfeeding positioning assistance within my scope, and guidance on newborn cues and safe sleep. Mothers can also receive emotional encouragement, assistance creating a comfortable recovery space, simple meal and snack preparation, baby related laundry, bottle washing, and light household assistance. Whether you need time to shower, rest, enjoy a meal, ask questions about newborn care, or simply have someone there to support you, each visit is tailored to your family’s needs. My goal is to help you feel cared for, supported, and more confident as you embrace this new chapter.
Because caring for a new baby takes a village, this package provides nine hours of personalized postpartum support through 3 three hour in home visits. Designed for families who want continued guidance and an extra set of hands during the early weeks of parenthood. Support includes hands on newborn care assistance, diapering, dressing, soothing, feeding education, breastfeeding positioning assistance within my scope, bottle preparation, newborn cues and safe sleep guidance. Mothers also receive emotional encouragement, postpartum adjustment support, simple meal and snack preparation, light baby related household assistance, baby laundry, and help organizing feeding and baby supplies. Each visit is personalized around the family’s needs, allowing parents to ask questions, gain confidence in newborn care, and receive practical support while making space for rest and recovery.
This package provides 18 hours of personalized, in home postpartum support, consisting of six three hour visits designed to help mothers and families navigate the early weeks with their new baby. Support includes newborn care assistance, diapering, bathing guidance, soothing techniques, feeding education, bottle preparation, and guidance on newborn cues and safe sleep practices. Mothers also receive emotional encouragement, nonjudgmental support, assistance creating a comfortable recovery space, simple meal and snack preparation, and light household assistance related to baby and postpartum recovery. Additional support includes helping partners become more comfortable with newborn care, establishing manageable routines, and connecting families with appropriate community resources when needed.
The Nighttime Village offers dedicated overnight postpartum support to help parents get much needed rest while ensuring their little one receives attentive, nurturing care. Overnight support includes newborn diaper changes, feeding assistance, burping, soothing, safe sleep support, and monitoring feeding and diaper patterns. For breastfeeding mothers, I can bring baby to you for feeds and assist with getting comfortable before returning baby to their safe sleep space. I also provide bottle and feeding supply organization, light tidying of baby’s immediate space, and an overnight update before the end of the shift. My goal is to help ease the demands of nighttime newborn care while giving parents an opportunity to rest, recover, and feel supported during the fourth trimester.
45-Minute Virtual Session Motherhood can bring unexpected emotional challenges, and sometimes you just need someone to listen without judgment. The Mother’s Embrace offers a private, compassionate virtual space where mothers can openly express themselves, talk through the challenges of postpartum life, and feel heard, supported, and encouraged. Whether you’re navigating feelings of overwhelm, loneliness, uncertainty, or simply adjusting to your new identity as a mother, this session is centered around your feelings, experiences, and individual needs. Together, we can explore gentle self care practices, identify support systems, and discuss helpful resources to support your postpartum journey. You deserve a space where you don’t have to pretend that everything is okay. You deserve support, too. This is a nonclinical emotional and peer support service, not therapy or treatment for postpartum depression.

I have experience supporting families through hospital births and the early postpartum transition. I believe every mother deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and supported, without judgment, during one of the most transformative seasons of her life. I offer emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and birth, as well as hands-on postpartum support, newborn care guidance, feeding support, and reassurance as families adjust to life with their new little one.
