About me

Hello and welcome! My name is Sounisra Reid, and I’m the doula behind Doula Te-Ruk. I support families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with a calm, caring, and hands-on approach. I am trained through Sankofa Birthworkers Collective and Ground Beginnings BIPOC Community Doula Training. I also offer placenta encapsulation and prenatal massage to help parents feel cared for during their journey. I speak both English and Thai, and I love supporting Thai-speaking families who want comfort in their own language. My goal is to make you feel safe, confident, and supported, whether it’s your first baby or your fifth. I believe every family deserves personalized care, gentle guidance, and someone who truly listens. I look forward to meeting you and being part of your beautiful birth experience.

My labor was 18 hours long and Pearl never left my side. She kept me calm, encouraged me when I felt like giving up, and made sure I had the support I needed the whole time. As a young mom, having her there made me feel safe, strong, and not alone. I couldn’t have done it without her! Love you Pearl..

During labor, Pearl kept us calm, balanced my wife’s needs, and made sure I knew how to support her. Because of her, I wasn’t just watching, I was truly part of the birth. If you’re a partner wondering if a doula is worth it, the answer is absolutely yes. Pearl supported both of us, and we’re so grateful.”
