Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a BEST Certified Postpartum Doula with a genuine love for caring for babies, supporting parents, and helping families feel a little more at ease during the beautiful—and sometimes overwhelming—transition into life with a new baby. Caring for children and families has been a meaningful part of my life for many years. With approximately 13 years of experience as a nanny and childcare provider, I’ve had the opportunity to support children through many different ages and stages while gaining a deep understanding of newborn care, child development, and the unique dynamics of each family. Along with my postpartum doula certification, I hold two Child Development certificates and an Associate’s degree in Allied Health. My education and experience allow me to bring both knowledge and a nurturing, hands-on approach into the homes of the families I support. After being a veterinary technician for over 10 years I transitioned to becoming a doula when I had my son. I could not have endured my 64 hour labor without my incredible doula. If I can help woman in the most vulnerable stage of their lives, through all the magic and pain that is childbirth and postpartum like my doula did for me, then I have fulfilled my core purpose. I am a BEST certified doula in birth and postpartum care. I am also CPR certified through the American Red Cross for adults and infants.

Nurturing and care giving is in my nature. I am specifically drawn to women and the transition into motherhood. I felt the call to birth work after attending the birth of my first nephew. I completed my Holistic Doula training in 2019 then had a child of my own in 2021 which taught me about the real depths of birth and motherhood. My goal as a birth worker is to nurture the autonomy and intuition of parents. I grew up in the high desert hills of Reno, Nevada, but as a wanderer at heart, spent many years traveling and living abroad until I landed in New York City. I worked in NYC for 7 years and am now based in Reno again as of March 2022. I am continually inspired by the landscapes of the desert and the sea! I first discovered the power of mind-body medicine through Yoga after spine surgery as a teen, which influenced my search for effective care in my own struggle with reproductive health issues. This search brought me to the study of ancient healing modalities as well as nutrition, herbal medicine and energy work. I earned a master’s degree in Integrative Health Studies, with a focus on women’s/reproductive health, at the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2015 (my master’s thesis was about infertility and spirituality). Doula work came as natural complement to my master's program as I had been supporting children and families since I was a child, nannying my way through high school and college. I initially signed up for a doula training as a way to learn more about birth culture and supporting pregnancy, but after attending my first birth knew that it was a perfect blend of all of my interests and skills. Studying and sharing fertility and pregnancy wellbeing is my passion! My goal is to offer a calm, unbiased presence and to facilitate positive reproductive experiences by connecting people to practical, evidence-based information as well as their own inner wisdom. Hello. My name is Alicia and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula in Reno NV. I provide emotional, educational, and physical support during pregnancy, at birth, and postpartum, through a transitional and sacred time in a parent's life. As a postpartum doula, I offer lactation support, if that's what you would like. I run interference with sleep issues. You can take a nap, and I can hold your baby. But there's also a lot of information in those sessions about postpartum life, such as how to give your baby their first bath or how to change diapers. I would also love to help with some light cleaning, bottle prepping, and baby laundry. I believe that there is not one right way to parent. Parenting with love, the knowledge of primal health and with evidenced based information may look different family to family. Parents are capable of choosing what is best for their own family.
