Hi there! I'm Chelsea – a wife, stay-at-home parent of two, certified birth and postpartum doula, and babywearing educator based in Connecticut. With over two decades of experience working with children and families, my journey includes a master's degree in education and 11 years of teaching music to students from PreK through grade 12. My path to becoming a doula was inspired by the isolating and challenging nature of the postpartum months. Having navigated this journey myself, I realized the importance of support during this period. I aim to alleviate the isolation many face by offering guidance and understanding. Having been the first in my friend group to experience parenthood, I understand the complexities and uncertainties. My role is to provide a compass, steering you away from the confusing and sometimes overwhelming information available online. Join me in creating a supportive community, where I offer education, solidarity, empowerment, strength, and empathy to ease your transition into parenthood

Chelsea was referred to me by a postpartum doula in my first trimester. She was the only birth doula I interviewed because I knew right away that she was the right woman for the job: A no-BS, science-based, level-headed millennial with just the right dose of sarcasm. Ahead of birth, Chelsea visited with me and my husband twice to give us crash courses in labor/delivery, Spinning Baby techniques, and Baby Basics 101 (changing a diaper, installing and using a car seat, swaddling, and babywearing). Thanks to her prep, we felt far less anxious going into labor. At the hospital, it was clear that she has mastered the perfect balance of calm encouragement and strong advocacy with medical providers. She always stays professional, but is never afraid to push back on your behalf. I went through a pretty long and difficult labor but thanks to the support of Chelsea and her colleague Rachel, who joined us for the second half through delivery, I never felt afraid, powerless, or unsafe. After birth, we continued to retain Chelsea's services as long as we could as an overnight/postpartum doula, allowing my husband and I to get much-needed rest as we both went back to work immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chelsea for any doula needs.

I honestly can’t say enough great things about Doula Kayanna James. She was recommended to me by a family member, and from the very first conversation, I could tell why she’s so loved and respected in the community. From start to finish, she was such a calming, supportive presence throughout my pregnancy and birth experience. Kayanna went above and beyond to make sure I felt prepared, confident, and cared for. She signed me up for classes that taught me so much about labor and what to expect as a first-time mom, things I would have never known otherwise. When it came time to give birth, she was right there with me, offering amazing tips and techniques to help me cope through the pain and stay focused. Her voice, her encouragement, and her gentle guidance helped me stay grounded through every contraction. What really stood out to me was how much she truly cares. She checked in on me before and after the birth, making sure I was healing well and adjusting to motherhood. It didn’t feel like I was working with a service; it felt like I had someone in my corner who genuinely wanted the best for me and my baby. If you’re thinking about having a doula, I can’t recommend Kayanna James enough. She’s knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly dedicated to the families she supports. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows in every way. I’m beyond grateful for her guidance and care, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Kim was an absolute angel to my husband and I during my labor and delivery! She brought such a calming and reassuring presence to the room, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better person to have by our side. She listened to our preferences, gave us sound advice, and made sure we felt heard and advocated for throughout the entire experience. Even during my pregnancy, she was always there to help. She checked in regularly, answered any questions I had, and even helped me figure out the right questions to ask my doctor so I could feel more informed and prepared going into delivery. One thing I really appreciated about Kim is that you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and caring, and her support never felt like she was just doing a job. She truly cared about me, my baby, and our experience. I’m so grateful we chose her and I would recommend her a thousand times over!

Smitha is absolutely amazing! She is currently helping me during postpartum with my second baby and I feel extremely supported and comfortable with her. She is so gentle while taking care of my son if I need a shower or a nap. She also helps with dishes and meal prepping if needed, which lowers my stress levels towards the end of the day. Kaitlyn Reed

Hi! I'm Kaitlyn. I am a DONA Certified Birth Doula and a Rhode Island Certified Perinatal Doula experienced in working with those choosing to have a home birth or water birth, those walking through birth anxiety, and those needing strong human rights advocacy in the hospital setting. I utilize evidence-based childbirth education to teach, Spinning Babies techniques to physically support, trauma-informed care to emotionally support, and Birth Monopoly training to encourage advocacy with my clients. I take an overall holistic and natural-minded approach to care. I work with my clients throughout their pregnancy, continuously through labor and birth, and for a few weeks postpartum in the hospital, at home, and in birth centers. I also offer supportive care during the postpartum period with physical and emotional support for mother's, newborn care, cooking, light cleaning, and more. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, and prior to becoming a Birth Doula, I spent a decade professionally teaching. My career has been spent educating and caring for children and their families, which has proven to be extremely beneficial to my birth work. It’s my desire to continue supporting and loving families as they engage in the most important moments of their lives. I birthed both of my children at home and I have a deep love and respect for home births. Through my own pregnancy and birth experiences, I found that having proper support from people you truly trust and feel safe with is absolutely essential for a satisfying birth experience. I'm eager to support you, educate you, reassure you, and help you advocate for everything you want your birth to be. It's my goal to ensure you always feel safe, heard, loved, respected, and empowered throughout your journey.

Kaitlyn has been a long time friend. We were both excited when we found out that we were both pregnant and only a day apart with our boys! This was my first pregnancy and her second. Unfortunately, we live in different states and didn’t see each other much in person. When I was 17 I lost my mom and Kaitlyn was always by my side. The same holds true, even in different states, during my pregnancy. Kaitlyn was always a text, Snapchat, or voice message away from answering any questions I would have. No question or concern was too much to ask! At 20 weeks I learned my son had a cyst in his brain that could indicate a chromosomal abnormality (at 27 weeks we found out that he would be ok after many appointments at a specialist). Kaitlyn was my first call, she kept me calm and although there were no answers she could give me that would take the worry away, it was a blessing to have someone virtually there to support me. I went into labor first and had a hospital birth, everything was beautiful for the first couple of hours and then reality hit. If only postpartum held the same excitement feeling I felt for 9 months. Kaitlyn was in labor at that time and I still felt the love and support that I had throughout my pregnancy. It wasn’t until a month or so after giving birth when she mentioned about becoming a doula and I couldn’t agree more that she would be perfect for that profession! She was doing the work of a doula, virtually, but it didn’t feel like we were 100 of miles apart. If we both were up during the night (throughout pregnancy and postpartum) we would text or Snapchat each other videos of whatever issue we were having. She had advice that I would’ve never thought of. Being that my mom passed away and this was my first pregnancy, I didn’t have that women to go to for advice, to cry to, or just to share our struggles with. Kaitlyn was that person for me, granted she is not my mom but she is someone who would give me honest advice, someone who would wipe my tears through the phone with laughter. She did all this before making it her profession. Her compassion and care make her the best choice for anyone to choose her to be their doula.

Hi, I’m Danielle! I’m a postpartum doula, lactation educator, and Master Health Coach with a Bachelor’s in Health Education and a passion for practical, evidence-informed, and nourishing care for mothers and families after birth. With over a decade in healthcare, I support families through the realities of early postpartum life, from physical recovery and infant feeding to newborn care, nourishing meal preparation, rest, and the everyday tasks that can feel overwhelming with a new baby. My approach is mother-first, with hands-on support that helps mothers feel cared for while they care for their babies. I’m also a mom who has experienced the messy, beautiful, and humbling parts of postpartum myself. I’m passionate about helping mothers feel informed, replenished, and supported as they recover, adjust, and settle into life with their baby.
