I am a mother of 2 beautiful children. My daughter was born in the Fall of 2020, and I felt like life had failed to prepare me for all things birth related. I knew nothing about pregnancy, birth, or postpartum. I had dreamt for years about getting pregnant, and I wanted nothing more than to be a mom. When it finally happened, I felt so unprepared. I was confused why my friends on social media looked like they had it all together. How did they look so well rested after having baby? How did they not have any problems with labor? How did they look so happy pregnant? How come their baby is latching and mine isn’t? It took me months, a supportive partner, and an amazing counselor to realize that I was normal. These are things that a lot of parents deal with, and I am here to tell you, that is okay! My mission is to support you through this beautiful journey by offering non-judgmental, non-prescriptive compassionate support for all birth choices and all birthing people. As a new mom she had many breastfeeding challenges but had never heard of a lactation consultant and couldn’t have afforded one if she had. These early struggles inspired her to help other parents in need. Cass did her clinical hours at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens NY, with the Lactation Learning Collective in Harlem, NY and in homes in western Michigan rounding out her education with a total of 9 mentors! Anne is a Speech Language Pathologist and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, specializing in feeding and swallowing with newborns through childhood. Anne has over 18 years of experience working within the pediatric acute care hospital setting including the NICU, the outpatient setting, as well as home health. Anne has a special interest in tethered oral tissues and the impact tongue and lip ties have on feeding and oral development. Anne is excited to share her knowledge and help problem solve general to complex feeding issues. She will support you and your family as you navigate feeding development with your child.
