The cost of a midwife in Yucaipa, CA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

California Medicaid covers certified nurse-midwife care for prenatal services, birth, and postpartum care, as federal rules require all state Medicaid programs to include CNM services. Coverage for licensed or certified professional midwives at home or in birth centers varies by plan and does not apply to every California member. Yucaipa has an active local market, with 16 midwives listed within 60 miles. Private insurance benefits should be confirmed directly with the insurer.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

My calling is birthwork and motherhood, and in this season, I believe my mission is centered on nurturing the mother so she can nourish the fruit. Myself as The Milk Root Doula ™ was born from a deep desire to restore my ancestral lineage and power of Black and Brown breastfeeding, providing a space where nourishment is reclaimed as a radical act of love. I am rooted in the belief that when a mother is firmly planted in support, her entire family can bloom. While my heart is dedicated to closing the gaps in Black maternal health, I welcome all families who value an evidence-based approach to the sacred transition of birth and infant feeding. I am a firm advocate for all birthing people and every infant feeding choice. Whether you are nursing, pumping, or formula feeding, my priority is a healthy baby and a whole, supported mother. I bring a unique "doula heart and clinical mind" to this work, backed by a B.S. in Maternal and Infant Health from Howard University and years of experience as a clinical birth assistant and doula. At The Milk Root, I bridge the gap between academic excellence and the intuitive power of the perinatal period. Whether I am assisting you through the intensity of labor, providing peer lactation support, or guiding your mental and emotional wellness, I am here to ensure your journey is protected. I don’t just offer services; I offer a foundation—helping you grow deep roots so your family can thrive for generations.

Hey mama, I’m Pam! I’m so glad you’re here. Being a doula brings me so much joy. It’s truly my passion and such a gift to walk alongside women through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of motherhood. I’m a certified birth and postpartum doula based in Ontario, California. With a background in women’s health and fertility support, I bring both heart and knowledge to the care I provide. My goal is to help you feel confident and at peace throughout your journey. I am here to offer steady support, guidance, and encouragement so you can trust your body, your choices, and the process, knowing you are never alone. When I’m not serving mamas, you’ll probably find me at Disney with my husband, soaking up all the magic, with the best treats.

As a first-time mom, I had no idea what to expect going into labor and delivery. I was overwhelmed with information, emotions, and fear of the unknown. Hiring Pamela as our doula turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. From our very first meeting, she radiated warmth, confidence, and compassion. She took the time to get to know me and my birth preferences without any judgment, offering gentle guidance and information to help me feel empowered and prepared. When labor began, she was right there, calm, steady, and supportive. She instinctively knew what I needed at every moment! Whether it was counter pressure during contractions, helping me breathe through a particularly intense moment, or simply whispering encouragement when I felt like giving up. She also supported my partner in ways we didn’t even realize we needed, helping him feel confident and involved rather than helpless. The birth itself was beautiful, intense, and deeply emotional. I truly believe I had the positive birth experience I hoped for because of her guidance and presence. Even after the birth, she stayed to make sure we were comfortable, and followed up with incredible postpartum care, checking in on my physical recovery, my emotional well-being, and helping us navigate those early newborn days. She wasn’t just a doula, she was an anchor, an advocate, a coach, and a friend. I honestly can’t imagine going through this journey without her by our side. Every mom deserves someone like Pamela. Someone who will hold space for your experience, empower you, and walk with you every step of the way. I’m endlessly grateful. If you’re considering hiring her, don’t hesitate! She’s truly extraordinary ❤️

I am a birth doula who believes that every woman deserves to feel seen, heard, and deeply supported throughout her pregnancy, labor and postpartum journey. My approach is rooted in education, advocacy, and emotional presence. I don’t replace your voice, I hope you strengthen it. I understand that birth is not just a physical event, but a life-changing experience that impacts a woman’s body mind and spirit. Whether you desire a medicated birth, or unmediated birth or cesarean delivery, I honor your choices and work to ensure you feel confident, informed, and respected every step of the way. My philosophy centers on creating a safe judgment-free space where families can ask questions, express fears, and feel empowered in their decisions. I believe that when a woman is supported properly, her outcomes- physically and emotionally are stronger and more positive. I provide continuous support, comfort techniques, evidence-based information, and guidance for both you and your partner, so you never feel alone in the process. My goal is not just to help you through birth, but to help you walk away from it feeling powerful, cared for, and proud of your experience.

*Currently on maternity leave for the remainder of 2026* Birth and babies are my passions. I started the journey to becoming a birth doula shortly after having my second baby, Colton. My first and second births were completely night and day. My first baby, Caleb, was an incredibly long and strenuous labor; a total of 72 hours. With my second, however, I was only in labor for a total of 25 hours, which still is very long, but not by comparison. I owe a lot of that to my amazing birth team I had for my second birth, which included a midwife and doula support, and the education I gained throughout my pregnancy on how to prepare my body for birth. I believe in a holistic approach to birth. I don't think birth should be treated as a medical emergency until proven that it needs to be. Birth is a natural, beautiful thing, and while modern medicine absolutely has its place, I don't think it automatically belongs in every birth space. That said, I support every way to give birth, because in the end you're the only one in control. If you want an epidural, membrane sweep, Pitocin, all the drugs, I will absolutely support your decision. Or if you want to deny all cervical checks, do intermittent monitoring, and have your baby in the tub, that's great by me too! My priority as your doula would be to give you access to all the information you need to make well informed choices and give you the support you need to make your birth experience exactly what you want
