I began my career as a birth professional in 2013 as a registered nurse, specializing in Labor & Delivery. I am also a certified doula and home birth midwife. I have worked as a travel nurse in different states, which has allowed me to learn a variety of useful methods and introduce them where beneficial to my birthing moms. It has been my pleasure to work with families of diverse backgrounds, helping them welcome their new baby into the world and fulfill their best possible pregnancy & birth experience. I enjoy working with women who labor with or without epidurals assisting them with massage, positioning, and breathing techniques to achieve a calming labor experience. I have attended over 2,000 births including water birth and cesarean deliveries. I completed my training and certification as a birth and bereavement doula through both the DONA International and Stillbirthday (bereavement) programs. I have also obtained certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to assist women in their breastfeeding goals. As a Chocolate Milk Cafe facilitator I hold monthly meetings to provide Black women and their families with breastfeeding support and resources. I have received training as an Evidence Based Birth Instructor through Evidence Based Birth. Additionally, I have completed training to become a fertility and pregnancy and infant loss (PAIL) advocate. As a registered nurse I hold certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), AWOHNN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate & Advanced), and Safe Sleep. My goal is to help educate mothers and families to be as prepared as possible for the childbirth experience and help them to adjust thereafter. I offer hands-on support, as well as help mom understand each step of the labor/birth process so she may better voice her desires to her provider (MD/CNM). I am very open and willing to answer mom/family questions and address any expressed concerns. Sharing the birthing process and miracle of life is my passion. I know that the birthing process can be very overwhelming and my focus is to help diminish any sense of fear and replace it with knowledge and empowerment. I promise to hold your hand every step of the way so #Let’sHaveABaby! **I AM UNABLE TO SEE MESSAGES!** To connect Please schedule a consult via my website www.laboredwithlove.com 913-543-1077

I highly recommend! Lydia is a midwife, experienced, and completely trustworthy midwife. She and her entire team do a fantastic job; they have been like my support system throughout my pregnancy and childbirth journey. I will definitely return to them in the future. My overall pregnancy birth and experience is happy and satisfied. I share my experience with my family and it has changed how they think about natural home birth. I came to Lydia at the beginning of my pregnancy and enjoyed everything about the whole process. All of the preparations we did with Lydia were important beginning to end. Having a midwife at the birth made me feel safe and more comfortable.

Maddie was our doula for our first baby and oh my gosh I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s very communicative through the whole process of getting to know her and sharing our desires for our birth plan. She was incredible during labor providing the perfect support based on what we wanted. She‘s a great cheerleader, as well as guide and willing to approach the powerful experience applying strategies that work best for you and your family. Specifically, I‘m an athlete and I really wanted a 'coach-like' mindset and Maddie nailed it providing all the encouragement and visualization I needed for such a smooth and beautiful birth of my baby. Highly recommend Maddie!

Hello! My name is Arianna, but most people call me Ana (ah-nuh). I'm a birth and postpartum doula serving families in central Michigan (based in the Big Rapids/Paris area). My journey into birth work began 12 years ago when I attended my first birth, and it's been a deep passion ever since. I completed my birth & postpartum doula training in 2017 and have loved supporting families through labor, birth, and the early postpartum days. It's truly an honor to be invited into such a sacred space, providing the steady support every mom deserves during one of life's biggest moments. I know birth and postpartum can be tough, but you are too. I'm here to offer physical comfort measures, emotional encouragement, and evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions that align with your unique needs and preferences. My husband Devan and I have been married for 9 years (celebrating 10 this June!), and we're parents to 4 wonderful kids. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, listening to audiobooks, thrifting for treasures, baking, and spending quality time with my family. I'd love to chat about how I can support you—feel free to reach out anytime! Warmly, Ana

Please, please, please utilize Ana for all your doula needs. Ana was available for all my questions and concerns prior to delivery, provided pre-birth education for my husband and I, then coached us through our birth two days ago! I really wanted to do my birth as naturally as possible, when I ended up getting an epidural Ana was able to advocate for me, intuitively support my husband and I, and support with epidural-friendly laboring positions. When I tell you that Ana is THE all around doula! Whether you want the birth at home and are seeking a competent support team member or someone to make a hospital birth feel less clinical, Ana is your gal. I could not have had the beautiful delivery I did without her support! She is the best!

Simone has been holding space for expecting and postpartum families for over 10 years. Birth has a powerful way of healing and transforming you, and her first birth did just that. The ability to have 2 empowered births the way she wanted, gave light to the need for advocacy, education and doula support amongst the birthing community, especially black families. Simone is a mother, doula, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, childbirth educator and infant sleep educator. She has been teaching and mentoring doulas along the way and excited to dive deeper into holding the hands of the next generation of birth workers.

Recent review

I cannot say enough good things about Simone as our night doula and lactation consultant. From the moment she entered our home, she brought a sense of calm, compassion, and expertise that made an immediate difference in our postpartum experience. As a second-time mom navigating recovery, sleep deprivation, and feeding challenges, her presence was nothing short of a gift. She supported our entire family with such gentleness and professionalism. Her overnight care allowed us to get desperately needed rest, knowing our baby was in kind, capable hands. Her lactation guidance was equally invaluable. She offered evidence-based support with zero judgment—troubleshooting tummy issues, providing reassurance, and giving practical tools that worked. Thanks to her help, I went from overwhelmed and in pain to confident and empowered. I did not feel a bit of judgment when I chose to go from breastfeeding to formula due to my baby's tummy issues. She listened deeply, responded thoughtfully, and truly respected our parenting values. She didn’t just care for our baby—she cared for us. If you're looking for someone who is not only highly skilled but also emotionally attuned and reliable, I wholeheartedly recommend Simone. She’s an absolute gem and a vital part of our early parenting story.

I have worked with Aerkya since 2019 for 4 pregnancies and it wasn't until this last one that I realized that the reason we came to blows was totally my fault. There was no physical altercation and I can't even say that there was a heated verbal exchange because I did all of the verbal attacking and used all the inflammatory language. For my first pregnancy she was beyond helpful to my family. She was more than a doula and something like a therapist. She showed up for me not just physically but emotionally and I know I got on her nerves with as much as I called and texted her. She has NEVER said this but I'm sure I was a nag. My second delivery in 2021 was much of the same but I'd lost my dad at the end of my pregnancy. I went into labor the day after his funeral and she literally held me while I dealt with every emotion known to man. My third delivery in 2023 was my easiest pregnancy and delivery and she was there every step of the way. My most recent delivery this year 2026 was rough. The pregnancy and the delivery were hard on me physically and emotionally and while Aerkya did her best to keep me focused on the main goal, I was not a walk in the park to deal with. I have moved about 50 minutes away from where I lived with the first three deliveries and because I have had home deliveries I always wanted to make sure my birth team could get to me easily. I went into labor around 5 am in the morning but I didn't call her until maybe 8:30. Knowing with morning traffic it would be at least a hour almost 2 to reach me. I called her several times to see where she was knowing she was in traffic and hearing her driving and horns honking in the background. She stayed calm even though I was a real you know what. I cursed at her, I yelled at her, I told her that she should've just known that I was in labor. And if you get to know her, you know she can match your fire but she didn't. She remained calm and gentle with me and to this day I don't know why she didn't go off on me. I didn't even call my midwife I just called Aerkya. I found out later that she called my midwife on her way to my house because she lives even farther away and it would be an even longer drive for her. I ended up delivering my baby that 2:27 that afternoon and I was happy but still dealing with other personal stuff so I was mean even after having a healthy baby with no complications. I yelled because Aerkya and the midwife were there. They did nothing wrong to me or my children. Aerkya called and texted me, my husband, my mom, my sister and my best friend DAILY to check on me and the baby. They would tell me to reach out to her to just let her know we were ok but instead I called her, cursed and yelled at her and told her not to contact me or my family again. All she said was okay and if you experience her "okay", you'll learn that she basically told me she was done with me. I found out later on that she kept reaching out to my husband, sister and best friend to help them help me. It took me about a month to feel something like myself again and I realized that I was mean to my entire family. I reached out to my midwife and Aerkya to apologize and make things right. I went back through texts and realized just how horrible I was to her. She still tried to be there for me. I have reached out countless times in the past month and haven't gotten a response and I deserve that. I wouldn't respond to me either. Aerkya went above and beyond for me each pregnancy but I had unrealistic expectations of her this time around. Aerkya has a calm presence that you wouldn't even realize you need until it's there. She listens attentively and I never felt rushed with her. Even if she had decided not to show up for my delivery because I was nasty to her I could never replace or ignore how she showed up for me through other pregnancies and deliveries and through this one. I hope she will have me for any further pregnancies because I'm not working with anyone else but her.

Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula | Childbirth Educator | Lactation Specialist As a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, I provide calm, nurturing, and evidence-based support for families through pregnancy, birth, and the newborn stage. My goal is to help parents feel informed, confident, and cared for every step of the way. Grant + Leah 2/20/2026 "Mari was assigned to us as a replacement doula when our original doula had a conflicting delivery. Mari immediately reached out and was flexible to our needs in early labor. My wife was laboring hard in triage for 7 hours (there was a major rush at the hospital, we couldn't get a room or her planned epidural for that long) and doesn't know how she would have coped without Mari. She immediately brought a calm presence to our situation while also helping us get the situation under control and manage contractions with various techniques. Mari also helped us execute on our birth plan and encouraged us to get rest whenever possible. We would recommend Mari to anybody seeking a doula." The amount of pressure relieved knowing that there is a person who is the expert is huge, and she is on your side ready to voice any concerns that you may have. My husband and I felt so relieved and taken care of these magical yet difficult time. Mari supported us during birth and postpartum. I’m a caregiver who believes children thrive best when they feel safe, seen, and genuinely understood. I approach each child as a whole person—with their own personality, emotions, and way of learning—and I work to support them with patience, consistency, and respect. I value routines, clear communication, and creating calm, nurturing environments where children can explore, grow, and build confidence at their own pace. My philosophy is rooted in connection first. When children feel emotionally secure, everything else follows—learning, behavior, and independence. I partner closely with parents because consistency between home and care matters. I take pride in being dependable, attentive, and intentional in the way I show up each day. Caring for children isn’t just something I do—it’s work I take seriously, with heart and purpose.

Ashley is Amazing , compassionate, understanding , flexible, patient and loving. I love and value that she advocates for my wants and needs. Her being a mommy and woman herself shines through how well she really relates to what are all the motions and vulnerability we experience during birth that i never really even knew to pay attention to until I met with Ashley. Alongside her compassion she doesnt ignore core values of your beliefs and expectations as planet fitness would say she gives that judge free zone, or we listen and we don't judge. Im Thankful and grateful to have crossed paths with the heaven sent angel she is, forseeking and wanting to experience a doula since learning about them im glad she was matched with me to give me an unforgettable experience for what is my first pregnancy with Twins but also my final pregnancy/labor & Birth experience. We Love and Thank You So much Ashley The Best Doula Anyone can ask for 💛

I bring a heart-centered, holistic approach to birth work—rooted in deep empathy, empowerment, and unwavering trust in the sacred journey of motherhood. I believe birth is not just a physical experience; it’s a profoundly emotional and spiritual transformation—for the mother and the entire family. My philosophy centers on honoring your intuition, supporting informed choices, and holding space for you to feel seen, heard, and respected at every stage of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I am not here to take control. I am here to walk beside you, uplift you, and remind you of your innate power as a parent. My practice is grounded in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and the understanding that no two birth journeys are the same. I meet you where you are—whether you're planning a serene home birth, a hospital delivery, or anything in between. Through education, advocacy, and unwavering support, I help parents navigate their options and move forward with confidence and clarity. The postpartum journey is just as important—and sacred—as pregnancy and birth. I believe this period deserves just as much care and intention. My approach is rooted in nurturing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—while creating a soft landing for you to heal, bond, and grow into your new rhythm. Whether you're a first-time parent or welcoming another baby into your family, I offer nonjudgmental support, compassionate listening, and practical help tailored to your unique needs. From emotional reassurance and newborn care guidance to light housework and breastfeeding or bottle feeding support, I work to create a calm, grounded environment where your recovery and your baby’s transition are deeply honored. I see postpartum not as a time to “bounce back,” but a time to be held, nourished, and affirmed. You don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to make you feel seen, safe, and supported every step of the way. This work is more than a profession for me—it is a calling. A calling to serve, nurture, and restore dignity and joy to the birthing experience.

Annie was my doula for the birth of my son in December 2024. This was my first baby so I was nervous about what birth would be like and if I could handle it since I wanted to go all natural. The hospital referred us to a list of doulas and after interviewing several, we met Annie. After we hung up the phone, my husband and I immediately said, "This is the one!" Leading up to the delivery day we met with her to discuss our birth plans and what we hoped for. It was a very positive and helpful meeting. She brought up things I wouldn't have thought to consider. When I went into labor, she and my husband were texting and she made her way quickly when we said we were ready for the extra support. She had different tools - tens unit, pressure holds, belly sling, diffuser/oils, and a lot more that I can't recall. Even more than the physical things she brought to support me, her presence was an incredible blessing. She is very good at adapting to the mood of the room. I wanted a quiet, dark environment and her calm, reassuring presence was exactly what I needed. She would suggest trying something new when she could tell I was starting to have a hard time getting through contractions, but would also give me space when I didn't want anyone near me or touching me. As I'd requested during our planning session, she and my husband worked together to support me throughout labor and they would quietly check in with each other about how I was doing and if they thought it was time to try something else. I wanted my husband to be my primary support person and Annie did a great job of coaching him and having a balance between supporting me and giving my husband and I space when I wanted it. They made a great team for me! Lastly, she has endurance! It was a long labor and she was with us for over 10 hours of it. She kept up her quiet, calm energy throughout and continued to support me physically too (like with holding my belly up in the sling or doing pressure squeezes on my forehead) for hours. That must have been tiring but she never gave any indication that it was. I am so grateful for her involvement in the birth of our son. I truly could not have done it without the support of Annie - she was amazing! I absolutely want her there for the birth of our future babies and would recommend her to anyone!
