Tidal Nest is a postpartum doula practice serving Annapolis and Anne Arundel County — Severna Park, Crofton, Edgewater, Davidsonville, Arnold, and Kent Island. It's run by Corinne Carter, a CAPPA-certified postpartum doula, Annapolis local, and mother of three boys. The fourth trimester gets called magical. Mostly it's a steep learning curve: reading what your baby needs, feeding through rough patches, tracking your own recovery, knowing the difference between hard-but-normal and time-to-call. Most new parents teach themselves all of it alone at 11 p.m. on three hours of sleep. Tidal Nest exists to compress that curve. That means coaching, not rescue. Early on, Corinne does more of the hands-on work while you recover, explaining her reasoning as she goes. By weeks two and three you're leading and she's a guardrail. By week four, most clients report what worked instead of asking what to do. The measure of success is being needed less. In-home support starts at $55/hour daytime, $60/hour evenings, with a four-hour starter package and a prenatal consult. Lauren is a trained postpartum doula certifying with CAPPA and holds a master's degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she researched perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infant feeding, equity & doula care. She also co-chairs the Board of Directors for Postpartum Support International's Maryland Chapter. Most importantly though, she's a mom of 3. She came to this work after a frustrating and painful postpartum experience with her first born when she was a young mom. After birthing her first two children within the traditional OB/GYN hospital system, she decided to have an unmedicated, Midwife-attended home birth with her 3rd. Each birth and postpartum experience taught her something new, and she welcomes all families - no matter their choice of medical care or arrival to parenting - to her doula practice. When she's not busy researching and working with families welcoming new babes, she loves being outside in nature with her family, singing in the car with the windows down, and reading.

I also help many clients find relief from chronic neck and lower back pain, drawing on more than four years of therapeutic experience. In 2020, I founded a private practice specializing in pregnancy and postpartum manual therapy. Over the years of practice, I have helped over 300+ women relieve pain, improve mobility, and prepare for birth. My educational journey has included studies at Anne Arundel Community College and Western Governors University, and midwifery studies through the National College of Midwifery while apprenticing under several licensed midwives. I have attended over 50+ births in a mix of hospitals, home births, and birthing centers. My calling toward birth work was born of my own motherhood journey. My first childbirth experience showed me the power of a supportive birth team, but my second reminded me how deeply a lack of support can impact a woman. That moment became the turning point that led me to dedicate my life to women’s wellness — ensuring that every woman feels seen, supported, and cared for during one of life’s most transformative experiences. In 2022, I was honored to receive the Good Heart Award from The Shades of Blue Project during Black Maternal Health Week, recognizing my commitment to uplifting and caring for families in the birthing community. Hi there, I am a wife and mother to 3 children. I spend my days staying current on evidence based information about prenatal, peri and postnatal care. I enjoy playing soccer with my kids, cooking, decorating my home for each season and holiday as well as baking and arts and crafts with my kids after school. I have always been enamored with Labor and Delivery! My most favorite thing is to hear others that talk about their birthing experience. Whether it was positive or not, this most intimate time in their lives will always be memorable. As a young child, I found my way to birth before I had language for it. At five years old, I was guiding my dolls through labor, sitting with them, speaking softly, staying close.
