Tidal Nest is a postpartum doula practice serving Annapolis and Anne Arundel County — Severna Park, Crofton, Edgewater, Davidsonville, Arnold, and Kent Island. It's run by Corinne Carter, a CAPPA-certified postpartum doula, Annapolis local, and mother of three boys. The fourth trimester gets called magical. Mostly it's a steep learning curve: reading what your baby needs, feeding through rough patches, tracking your own recovery, knowing the difference between hard-but-normal and time-to-call. Most new parents teach themselves all of it alone at 11 p.m. on three hours of sleep. Tidal Nest exists to compress that curve. That means coaching, not rescue. Early on, Corinne does more of the hands-on work while you recover, explaining her reasoning as she goes. By weeks two and three you're leading and she's a guardrail. As a young child, I found my way to birth before I had language for it. At five years old, I was guiding my dolls through labor, sitting with them, speaking softly, staying close. I didn’t understand what I was doing then, but something in me already knew. There was a quiet pull toward women in this moment of becoming. As I grew older, that pull deepened.
