Hi! I’m Ashley. I’m a DONA Certified Birth Doula & Advanced VBAC Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, owner of Saltwater Doula, and an educator and agency coordinator at the Relief Doula Agency based out of Relief Parenting Respite and Resource Center in Hampton, NH. I am also the lucky mom of two sweet and salty girls! I offer prenatal, birth, postpartum, and lactation services to families in Portsmouth, Dover, Exeter, Manchester and other areas throughout the seacoast and southern New Hampshire. I provide support for clients of all kinds. This includes clients who wish to go unmedicated or are planning on an epidural, those with scheduled c-sections or who are preparing for a VBAC. For families with Blue Cross Blue Shield, you can receive up to 15 hours of postpartum care, valued at $1,500, reimbursed at the end of your journey. We also bill Carrot Insurance and Maven Insurance, and we are in the process of joining the United Healthcare network. To use Blue Cross or United benefits, you must work with a board-certified perinatal doula in Rhode Island—which I am! This means you can focus on your postpartum recovery while we handle the paperwork and ensure your care is covered.

I am a birth doula trained by Warm Welcome Birth Services. I am a registered MassHealth provider, which means if you are a member, my services will be covered by state insurance. Informed by my experience seeing the homebirths of my two younger siblings (and being born at home with a midwife myself), I believe that everyone giving birth deserves to feel seen, heard, and respected, no matter where they give birth. In my work, I value autonomy and informed consent. I am committed to providing trauma-informed, inclusive, and justice-oriented care for all, including people of color, queer and trans folks, disabled people, and those belonging to all types of family structures. I support families in the weeks and months after baby arrives. In person, virtually, all across Hampton and the surrounding NH towns, southern Maine, and the North Shore of MA. Most nights I'm in your home while you sleep. I handle the feeds, the diaper changes, the 3am stuff, so you can actually rest instead of running on empty. Daytime shifts look different depending on what you need that day. Some families want a hand with the baby. Some want help around the house. Some just want someone there who knows what they're doing. I used to get tangled up in the idea that paid support wasn't as real as a village showing up for free, but I don't anymore. When I was in it myself, some of the people who showed up were paid and some weren't. In the moment, I didn't care which was which. I was just glad someone was there. What matters is whether the person in your house is actually present with you, not just going through the motions. That's what I try to be.

Hi, I’m Nicolette Meinert, the founder of Family In Bloom. I have worked with children and families since 1997, when I completed my first American Red Cross babysitting course. My path in early childhood care began in Wakefield, Massachusetts, where I volunteered in summer-school and after-school programs while attending Galvin Middle School. I went on to study Early Childhood Education at Wakefield Memorial High School. Since graduating in 2004, I have worked as an infant, toddler, and preschool teacher and as a full-time nanny, caring for children at many stages of development. I enjoy empowering parents in such an intimate time of their lives and guiding them through uncertainties. I’m a Homebirth midwife who also loves to serve as a doula. I have years of experience with unmedicated, natural births, but can also support in any context. Hi, I’m Kolby, a full spectrum doula! I come from a big family and have always loved birth & babies. I have been working with children for the past 10 years. In college, I studied nursing (my mom is a nurse), as well as reproductive health. As a doula, I love being able to care for babies and help families adjust to this new stage of life. It makes me happy knowing I’m making a difference in someone’s home. Building relationships and trust with families is important to me, something I take seriously as your doula. Prior to becoming a doula, I worked as an overnight newborn care specialist, nanny and infant teacher– supporting babies and collaborating with parents. I also LOVE working with multiples– I have worked with several multiples families including twins and triplets.

I first trained as a doula in 2009, after the birth of my (much) younger brother. I was inspired by my mother’s experience and wanted to help birthing people own their births and find their confidence as a new parent through the birthing process. I went on to study Maternal and Child Health graduating from Boston University with a Master in Public Health. I have worked in public health policy with the career aim to transform the birthing system in this country. Through both my policy work and my work as a doula - I hope to rectify that birth is not just for women and it is not for women to do alone. There is a need and obligation to provide support for birthing people so that they are not only surviving, but thriving! The word “Alma” means soul or heart across many different languages. Serving pregnant and postpartum families is messy, raw, and vulnerable- I approach this work with humility and respect. At the core of my work is trust and connection with each individual and family unit. I do this work with my whole heart and soul. Birth work is truly soul work for me!
