We have Anthem insurance and have doula services fully covered. I plan to give birth at Highlands Ranch Hospital l and I am still figuring out my birth plan.

I am due in September and planning to give birth in a hospital (UC Health - Anschutz). I have not decided on a birth plan yet. My insurance plan is with Aetna PPO (through my work). I would ideally like a doula that is African American (as I am) but I am open to other backgrounds as well.

I’m planning to give birth in a hospital but I would like a doula to help with education prior to delivery. Education specifically around labor and pain management skills, as I have the intention of having an unmedicated birth. I would also like help creating a birthing plan, potentially help with advocacy during my hospital stay. I am interested in placenta encapsulation. My name is Rashidah Carroll. I am a first time mom. I plan on having my son at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital (Anshutz Hospital) in Aurora, CO. I currently reside in Denver, CO. I am looking for a doula that takes Colorado Medicaid, 5+ years of experience, english as primary language, African American preferably (but not required). Also, I need someone that is extremely reliable and is able to answer and help me with whatever question and/or help that I may need.

I am currently 11 weeks pregnant so I just getting a head start on looking for a doula. This is my second pregnancy. My first birth was in a hospital setting and everything went great up until the last couple of hours. I thank having extra support with me could have helped tremendously. 1. I am planning on giving birth either in a hospital or a birth center. I want to have as much support during labor especially if I choose a birth center since that would be an unmedicated birth. 2. I am not sure of budget but I definitely want to stay on the lower end of the budget. 3. I really want to choose a birth center and with that I know I would want to be fully prepared for an unmedicated birth. I am very interested in hypnobirthing but am also open to other methods of pain management.
