Hi, I’m Nicole! (she/her) I live in New Westminster with my rambunctious toddler, and my husband. We love exploring the outdoors and attending toddler playgroups together. I also love listening to podcasts and dancing in Zumba classes. I have completed both Holistic Birth Doula & Postpartum Doula training through MotherWit Doula Care, as well as the Step 2 Education Breastfeeding Essentials course. I’m so excited to also be a Prenatal Educator with Birth By Bloom/ Dancing Star Birth and teach expecting families at Pomegranate Midwives in East Vancouver. I am certified in CPR-C (trained in CPR for babies, children and adults) for your peace of mind. I have completed a mentorship from Morag Hastings of Apple Blossom Families and Dancing Star Birth. I strive to inform my clients, so you feel confident making educated, evidence-based choices to determine your value system for your birthing experience. I will honour and support those values, encouraging you to root into your instincts and trust your body throughout this physiologic process. I create space to acknowledge the transformation into parenthood and support your family so you feel grounded throughout this time of transition. At your birth, I tune into you and your support people to anticipate your needs, and take care of small details in maintaining the environment, to promote a more nurturing space for you all. I also offer postpartum support to help your family adjust during the postpartum period.

I’m a caring and dependable caregiver currently in nursing school with hands-on clinical experience as a certified medical assistant. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I bring both medical knowledge and real-life parenting experience as a mother of three children. My background allows me to provide attentive, safety-focused care while remaining calm and confident in a variety of situations, including overnight support. I specialize in supporting families during the postpartum and newborn stages, offering not only newborn care but also gentle reassurance and practical help for new mothers as they recover and adjust. I’m happy to assist with light household tasks such as tidying, bottle prep, and baby laundry to help ease the load during the night shift. My goal is to create a calm, supportive environment so parents can rest knowing both mom and baby are well cared for.

I used Madison for the first 6 months after our first baby was born, and again with our second baby. We connected after meeting at a local coffee shop and seeing her with her three kids. Madison was truly a lifesaver during those long days, when sleep was a necessity for my husband and I during the night. She kept baby fed, changed, and soothed at all times, and even got both of them on a sleep schedule for us. As a new mom, I struggled slightly with knowing the ins and outs of postpartum care such as breastfeeding, pumping, and storing milk, she was there to help and offer support when needed. Every morning before she left the house was tidied up beautifully for us, and all bottle and pump parts were sterilized and put away, and my milk that was pumped the night before was bagged, dated, and stored per my preference. We could not have made it through those first few months of having a newborn without her!

My wife is currently soaking up every moment with our newborn so I wanted to take a moment to share our experience. Working with Dana was the best investment we made for our birth journey. After a long and difficult road to conceive, this pregnancy was incredibly precious to us and we were naturally anxious about the delivery. Dana was a wealth of knowledge from day one. When labor got complicated and it felt like we were headed toward an unplanned C-section, she remained our calm in the storm. Her expertise in positioning and her ability to help us navigate the hospital’s suggestions were game changers. Thanks to her guidance and advocacy, we were able to avoid a C-section and have the vaginal birth we so deeply desired. She was respectful of the medical staff while ensuring our voices were heard. She didn't just support my wife physically, she empowered us to make informed decisions. We are forever grateful to have had her by our side and I cannot recommend Dana highly enough. As a husband, I was incredibly protective and anxious about my wife's safety. During a very intense point in labor, seeing her in so much pain was unbearable for me. I was actually the one who suggested a C-section just because I wanted her suffering to end. However, Dana remained our calm and steady guide. She didn’t dismiss my fears, but she knew exactly how to support my wife through that 'wall.' With her expert coaching on positioning and breathing, she helped my wife find the strength to keep going. Thanks to her, my wife was able to have the natural birth she so deeply wanted, completely intervention-free and, amazingly, without a single tear! Seeing my wife so proud of herself and empowered by her own strength was life changing. Dana didn't just support the birth, she supported our whole family. If you're a husband who is on the fence about hiring a doula, do it. It was the best decision we ever made.

Hello expecting families! My name is Char and I am a Birth/Postpartum Doula, Prenatal Yoga Instructor and currently enrolled in a Childbirth Educator course. Ive supported families through the DSABC and DAFGP. I was a community Doula with Indigenous Health (VCH) and was a Pregnancy outreach worker with BFL. I taught in group, focused on 1:1 sessions and supported Prenatal and Postpartum groups. I worked in healthcare for 9-years, mainly in administration. I supported an array of practitioners working with western medicine, holistic and traditional medicine. This experience allows me to work as a supporting bridge between both worlds, whether you are planning a hospital or home birth. How I show up in this work has a lot to do with my upbringing. I really enjoy care taking for mom during birth and postpartum, as I know it such a beautiful but sensitive time. My nurturing care was taught by my late mother, who I think was an unofficial doula herself. I learned how to tend to others through gentle touch, as my mom would give me massages growing up, when the children were unwell. I learned my calming essence from the relaxing environment my mom would create, the sound of soothing music in the morning, the added touches of nature in the home and the smell of incense burning. My love of teaching also ensures that you leave our sessions being informed and hopefully more confident!

Charlene provided the perfect experience and covered all of my needs! She's incredibly prepared to coach through coping measures, keep the environment calm, and provide comfort! When I was at my most vulnerable she still treated me with dignity. She passed no judgment and really helped me get through a difficult time. I'm grateful to have had someone so calm and gentle to be with me on such an important day. I cannot stress enough how amazing she is. Everyone needs a Charlene for their birth experience.

My path to becoming a doula began with my own births. As a mother, I have experienced how deeply birth can shape a woman. My last birth, supported by a doula, showed me the quiet power of being held without judgment, without pressure, just steady, present support. It changed everything for me. I have attended seven births so far, each one strengthening my respect for this work and deepening my calling to walk alongside women as they welcome new life. I have completed my doula training through Douglas College, where I developed the knowledge and skills to provide thoughtful, informed, and compassionate care. I believe birth is not something to be feared, but something to be witnessed and supported through. A doula holds that space, grounded and aware, so the mother can let go. With one foot in the conscious world, we create safety, allowing her to turn inward, trust herself, and fully enter the experience. In that space, she returns to herself. She rises into her instinctive, powerful nature. This is the heart of my work. I am committed to practicing cultural safety and honoring every client’s unique background, beliefs, and lived experience. My goal is to create a space where you feel respected, heard, and fully supported, exactly as you are. I am there to hold steady, to protect the space, and to support you as you move through one of the most defining moments of your life. Through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss, my role is to ensure you feel seen, safe, and supported every step of the way. You can expect calm presence, emotional support, and gentle guidance when you need it most. You will always have someone in your corner. I am committed to continually deepening my knowledge and learning new techniques to better support both mother and baby.
