Each year, about 500 Hoosier families experience this devastating loss, representing a rate of 1 out of roughly every 160 babies (6.3 per 1,000 live births).Blessings From Above is determined to help decrease these rates within its communities by providing exceptional support to all during their pregnancy, labor/birth and postpartum periods. My passion of becoming a Doula started back in December of 2018 when I was a participant in Indiana’s Nurse-Family Partnership program. This program is for economically disadvantaged women who are pregnant with their first child. Each participant is assigned to a personal nurse which meets twice a month up until their baby turns two years of age . After completion of the program I was motivated to help support other birthing persons the way I was supported in my community.
