Kayla Lashay

Hello, my name is Kayla, and I am a full-time doula proudly serving families throughout Indiana and surrounding communities. Born and raised in Indianapolis, I am also a mother of four beautiful children who have inspired my passion for birth work and maternal support. My journey to becoming a doula was deeply personal. After experiencing trauma during three of my own births, I realized how important compassionate, informed, and empowering support truly is during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I chose to turn my pain into purpose by helping other mothers feel seen, heard, educated, and supported throughout their birthing journey. As a doula, my mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and empowering experience for every family I serve. I believe every mother deserves respectful care, emotional support, and an advocate by her side. Through my work, I strive to transform trauma into healing and blessings by giving back to the community and supporting families during one of life’s most meaningful moments.

Having kayla as my doula has truly been one of the best decisions during my pregnancy journey. She has been incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, supportive, and caring every single step of the way. During such an emotional and important time in my life, she has made me feel genuinely cared for, heard, and at peace. One thing I appreciate most is how she never tries to overshadow my wants or opinions. She always makes my choices, comfort, and birth preferences the priority while still guiding and educating me with so much patience and compassion. That balance is so important when choosing a doula, and she does it beautifully. Kayla presence alone brings reassurance, comfort, and confidence, and I truly cannot imagine going through this journey without her support. I would recommend her to any expecting mother looking for someone who will advocate for them, support them, and truly care from the heart. 💕

We had an amazing experience with Takiesha - she was so helpful in listening to our birth plan/desires, providing guidance, educational materials, advice as we navigated our journey in becoming first-time parents. We couldn’t have done it without her! She was a great advocate for us and helpful as we had to make decisions at the hospital. She has a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience that helped us in so many ways. I would absolutely work with her again and highly recommend her!

Hi, my name is Sally Wiggins and I am a DONA certified birth doula, a certified Body Ready Method® pro, and certified lactation counselor located on the northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana. I am passionate about helping prepare pregnant women and their support team for birth. I have created an e-book and online course to help me reach more families in their birth preparation. I use evidence based information and my many trainings to prepare women both mentally and physically for labor. My husband of 33 years and I have 4 adult daughters, 3 son-in-laws, 2 dogs, and 1 grandson with another grandbaby on the way. I love the beach, spending time with my family, and learning new things. If you are looking for compassionate, evidence based care that helps you feel confident and calm going into your birth, then look no further.

Recent review

Working with Sally helped me to have the birth I wanted! I knew I wanted to try for an unmedicated birth, but was open to an epidural if needed, and Sally was supportive of both plans. She had great advice throughout my pregnancy and was a true hero on delivery day! She accompanied my husband and I to the hospital and was amazing at communicating with our nurses and doctors which took a lot of pressure off of me and my husband so that we could just be present in the moment. She used a variety of strategies to keep me as comfortable as possible during labor --the counterpressure and massage was a game changer during contractions! After baby was born she followed up with us several times to make sure breastfeeding and everything was going well. We would definitely recommend getting a doula, specifically Sally, to anyone who is on the fence about hiring someone to support their birth!

If you’re questioning whether you really need a newborn care specialist, or wondering if it’s even worth it, just give Regan a chance. She’s so flexible and warm—She will blow you away. From the very first night, we could tell she knew exactly what she was doing, and that alone was such a relief. She came in and everything felt calmer, the whole house! There was finally some kind of rhythm when in the beginning it can feel like absolute uncertainty every day. we could actually breathe and sleep again, we felt a little more like us. We don’t know how we would’ve gotten through those early weeks without her!!!

Hi, I’m England, founder of Womb + Root Wellness. 🌿 I’m a mother of three, full spectrum doula, lactation consultant, herbalist, and Reiki Master. My journey into birth work started long before I became a mother. I found myself naturally supporting and advocating for other mothers, while also navigating my own reproductive health journey. For years, I struggled with endometriosis without a diagnosis. As a Black woman, I experienced firsthand what it feels like to have your pain dismissed, your health overlooked, and your voice unheard within the healthcare system. I also watched the women closest to me including my mother and sister experience traumatic births and a lack of the care, information, and respect for autonomy they deserved. When I became pregnant and had my own children, I became my own doula. I learned how powerful it is to understand your body, know your rights, trust your intuition, and have someone in your corner. Those experiences became my purpose. I created Womb + Root Wellness to be part of the change—especially within Black and Brown birthing communities. My work is rooted in education, advocacy, holistic care, nourishment, and empowerment, helping mothers feel informed, respected, supported, and heard throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. Your body. Your birth. Your voice. Your autonomy. 🤎🌿

She is an amazing doula! Very supportive and my favorite was the knowledge she gave me. I always felt confident in the care she provided because she educated me to the point where I understood what was going on within me, and what I can do to fix it. She was AMAZING in labor, very calming and I’m glad she was there. I wouldn’t have had the birthing experience I did without her.

There are moments in life that change you forever, and bringing a child into the world is one of them. In one of the most vulnerable, painful, beautiful, and transformative experiences of my life, having my doula by my side made all the difference. From the very beginning, she created a space where I felt safe, heard, and deeply cared for. She never treated me like “just another client.” She took the time to understand my fears, my hopes, and the kind of birth experience I wanted. Her presence was grounding in a way I cannot fully put into words. When I felt overwhelmed, she reminded me of my strength. When fear crept in, she met it with calm reassurance and unwavering support. During labor, she advocated for me with compassion and confidence, helping me feel empowered instead of helpless. She brought peace into moments that could have easily felt chaotic. Whether it was through her comforting words, gentle guidance, physical support, or simply the way she stayed present with me every step of the way, she made me feel like I was never alone. What she does goes far beyond a service — it is a calling. She carries such warmth, wisdom, patience, and genuine love for the mothers and families she supports. Looking back, I truly believe my birth experience would not have been nearly as positive, healing, and empowering without her. I will forever be grateful for the care she gave me during one of the most important days of my life. If you are considering hiring a doula, know that having someone like her beside you is an indescribable gift. She helped me discover a strength within myself I didn’t know I had, and that is something I will carry with me forever.
