The cost of a midwife in Daytona Beach, FL can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Florida Medicaid covers care provided by certified nurse-midwives, including prenatal visits, birth, and postpartum services. Coverage for licensed or certified professional midwives at home or in birth centers depends on the specific Medicaid plan. Options near Daytona Beach are very limited, with two midwives listed within 60 miles. Private insurance benefits can also vary by plan.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Daytona Beach, FL, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

Hello! My name is Doracelis. I am a proud mother of five beautiful children and am based in Lady Lake, Florida. Over the past 19 years, my children have taught me that every individual is completely unique, each with their own distinct needs and personality. My passion for supporting families led me to become a WIC lactation counselor in 2015. To expand my care, I became a certified Postpartum Doula in 2020, focusing on the wellness of mothers and their newborns. In 2022, I earned my certification as a Birth Doula, allowing me to offer full-spectrum support throughout the entire pregnancy, labor, and delivery process. Every family I have served has taught me something valuable, and I am honored to share this wealth of knowledge with you. If you are looking for a dedicated Doula to guide you through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I am here to answer your questions and support you every step of the way. Please remember: you are not alone in this beautiful journey. God bless you. ¡Hola!

Hello! I am a birth and postpartum doula in Volusia County and servicing within a 50 mile radius. I got started in the birth community after the birth of my daughter. I had a wonderful experience, in part due to the wonderful midwives who attended me throughout my pregnancy and labor, as well as the postpartum doula who came to my home at 2 in the morning to help me with her when I was losing my sanity. These experiences made me want to give to other women, and I found my way into doula work. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I love doing it. Outside of my work, I spend time with my daughter and my partner, I enjoy reading and playing video games, and I have two cats and a leopard gecko. I have a Facebook page for my business where I regularly post at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069593215044&mibextid=ZbWKwL

I can't begin to say enough good things about Cari. From the moment we first began messaging, to our first meeting, all the way up to the amazing unmedicated birth of our second daughter. We are not strangers to an unmedicated birth, as that is what we did with our first daughter, but Cari helped make the experience with our second not only even better but much calmer and secure all around. Cari was informative in not just the potential outcomes of the birth we WANTED, but she made sure to take the time to cover what-if scenarios. What we were looking for in a Doula was someone who was willing to take the time to get to know us well before baby #2 was born, but also someone with a kind vibe/aura (IYKYK), who could advise us on some additional labor coping movements and massage/pressure points, and she did all of the above plus more. If we have another baby, she will undoubtedly be our Doula again. I genuinely recommend her on all levels. Even after our daughter was born, she stayed with us in the birth center for hours until I felt well and recovered enough for her to leave us (and this was past 1 am). She captured some absolutely precious, beautiful, and raw photos of our birth, on top of doing a newborn photoshoot for us. Themed and set where we wanted, yet again surpassing all expectations. She includes postpartum support as well, and she is so sweet when she came for her postpartum visit, she brought a batch of the most AMAZING lactation cookies ever (and might I say they sure worked for me!!). Cari will undoubtedly take the time to listen and form a plan that you want while informing you of all possibilities and taking care of you like a member of her own family, honestly. And who doesn't love a fellow nerd? Look no further. She IS the doula for you. THIS is the sign you're looking for.

Tamara Niedermann

hi! i’m tamara niedermann, owner and creator of the kindred feminine. i’m a witness and student of birth and birthing people and it’s an honor to be invited into your birth story. i’ve always known i’m at my best when i’m in support of the people around me. that desire for deep relationship is what has guided my journey to birth work, herbalism, and supporting the birthing and bleeding people in my community. when my younger sister and her husband started their parenting journey, she started sharing the things she was learning about pregnancy and labor. as i watched her pregnancy unfold i learned there was another way. it took the books and documentaries i found, and new perspectives i was learning to show me that doulas, and midwives, and placentas, and breastfeeding, and herbal baths are all a beautiful and sacred part of pregnancy and birth. since then, a deep passion has grown from within me to teach others this new way to know our bodies, experience our menstrual cycles, and conceive and birth our babies. the kindred feminine serves all birthing and bleeding people through education; teaching bodily literacy, contraception, or conception through the fertility awareness method, and pregnancy and childbirth education; walking alongside people in their conception journeys, and in their pregnancies and their births; and creating medicine through processing placentas and herbal offerings. i'm a bisexual cis woman of color who uses the pronouns she, hers, and her. i’m a newlywed in my thirties. i'm the daughter of an immigrant single mother. i acknowledge that Black, Indigenous, People of color (BIPOC) have much worse reproductive outcomes than their white counterparts. i'm an advocate for all birthing people no matter their race, sexuality, gender, or size. i'm a birth keeper, and an herbalist. i make placenta and herbal medicine, and hold space for those who i have the privilege of serving. grace and peace and many blessings on you.

Where do I begin…… If there’s one thing The Most High will do is cover HIS daughters I must say I couldn’t have asked for a better doula. I didn’t expect I was going to actually obtain a doula so last minute (8 months) within my pregnancy but also one that understood my birth plan. Ruth made it her business to support me in my boundaries set for medical care when possible changes had arised within the delivery. She is beyond helpful and knowledgeable in this field of care and made me feel comfortable and confident to bring in my first born son with her unconditional support. Never would I have imagined her to be able to be there for the 36 hrs of delivery but she was intentionally in ensuring my bonus daughter was tended to throughout those hours and I was cared for properly following within delivery and following his birth. Although the staff within hospital were very unbecoming with Ruth and the support of my family I couldn’t have asked for a better birth experience and it’s genuinely was because of her attentiveness to my care and the care of my son without any hesitation to tell staff what I needed when I needed it. I pray for every birth of my children in future in able to have her there to support me. Much love and respect for her purpose in this difficult field of care. I would recommend her 1000% over and over again. Ruth is a phenomenal woman and I’m so beyond thankful I was able share my birth experience with her ♥️
