Hey there! My name is Jaelle and I am a Certified Community Health Worker, Certified Community-Based Doula, Certified Holistic Birth Doula, and Certified Breastfeeding Peer Counselor with training in postpartum care, perinatal loss, and abortion support in the Metro Detroit area. Caregiving has been my purpose and passion since I was old enough to do so, working in many capacities, including nannying, mentorship, elder support, elementary school teaching, and more. I became a doula before I had my first child, and after going through childbirth myself, I know even deeper how important birthwork truly is. I strive for inclusivity and work with those of all backgrounds and abilities. I am always looking to learn and provide more education, resources, and support. Birth work is my calling. As a certified birth doula, I support mothers with compassionate care, education, and advocacy from pregnancy through postpartum. My goal is to help families feel safe, informed, and empowered while creating a positive and supported birth experience.

I am a certified birth doula, VBAC certified doula, birth photographer, and mother of two. My own births, a gentle cesarean followed by a healing VBAC, deeply shaped the way I support families. I understand how important it is to feel heard, respected, informed, and emotionally safe throughout pregnancy and birth. I am also completing my Body Ready Method certification, which allows me to bring more individualized, body based preparation into my prenatal support. Two of the most important parts of my birth philosophy are true informed decision making and helping families have a positive, trauma free birth experience. I believe informed consent should be more than simply being told what is recommended. You deserve to understand your options, the benefits and risks, and the alternatives available so you can make decisions that feel right for you. Birth photography is also a deeply important part of who I am and how I serve families. Birth is filled with powerful moments that can be difficult to fully remember while you are living them. Photographs preserve the strength, emotion, connection, and small details of your story, allowing you to see your experience from a new perspective and hold onto it for generations. After falling in love with my birthing experience, I wanted to help support other expectant mothers in having the birth experience of their dreams. During the pandemic I was becoming a first time mom and had no idea what to expect so I researched and found an amazing doula. My doula helped me gain the knowledge and resources needed to plan and have an unmedicated vaginal birth at a birthing center. After this, I became certified as a Doula through Best Doula. Giving birth helped me to realize that having a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies as well as 10+ years experience working with children and families did not fully prepare me for the preparation needed to give birth. That was the job of a doula and support team. Since this time, I have been working as a doula in and around Detroit❤️
