I’ve been a certified birth doula and certified postpartum doula the last ten years. I used to be a nurse in Brazil for 16 years. I would like to proceed in this area because I have always enjoyed working with prenatal and natal stages, including babies aged 0-6 months in the hospital. My journey in birth work started at age 12, when I had the unique experience of catching my little sister. At age 22, I started my work as a volunteer doula in Vermont, serving members in the community who lacked support. My early volunteer work gave me a deep understanding of how hospitals function, and how to work with medical staff towards the best possible outcomes for parent and child. In 2023, I was trained and certified through DONA, with mentorship by Penny Bussell Stansfield and Dr. Teri Nava-Anderson.
