About Elizabeth

I am a birth doula, breastfeeding specialist, and childbirth educator who believes women have the right to feel heard and empowered during their birth. I take the time to thoroughly educate women and their partners so that they head to their birth confident and prepared. I take my role as a doula seriously, taking the time to receive training in Spinning Babies, Rebozo Techniques, Grief and Loss, and Trauma-Informed Care. Simultaneously, I seek to feel like a friend to the families I work with, knowing that they are trusting me with one of the most memorable days of their lives! Birth is sacred and you deserve a doula who is experienced, passionate, educated, and caring to walk you through it!

What to expect

If you have Medicaid as a primary or secondary insurance, all services are completely covered in Michigan. I am also able to accept an HSA and offer payment plans as well. My prices are based on my experience, training, and a desire to serve my local community. As a photographer, I am also able to add photography to any package!

Frequently asked questions

Why did you become a doula?

I have a heart for women! As a Christian, I see this as an opportunity to show love to families as they transition into this new role. My mother had a doula and it TRANSFORMED her birth experience. I adore having a job where I can ease the mental load of women and help them step into this role feeling confident and cared for.

Are you okay if I get an epidural?

Of course! I am here to support you, medicated or not. I am highly trained in natural pain-management AND in epidurals.

Have you attended a homebirth?

Yes! I really enjoy homebirths, my relationships with the local midwives are amazing and they can be such a peaceful place to labor. I have also been a part of a homebirth transfer and emergency, so I am prepared for whatever may come.

Do you deliver babies?

Not on purpose! A doula's role is not to take the place of a medical provider, but to be a continuous source of support from pregnancy through the postpartum period. I will be with you at your birth, but not the one catching.

Will my husband/partner be a third wheel?

A doula doesn’t replace your partner, we support them. Your partner knows and loves you best; we bring experience, guidance, and reassurance so they can feel more confident and present during labor, rather than overwhelmed or unsure about what to do. I prep partners beforehand by teaching them how to help. I include them and guide them throughout your birth so that their role is highlighted all the more!
