The cost of a midwife in Escondido, CA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

California Medicaid covers prenatal, delivery, and postpartum services provided by certified nurse-midwives, as required across the country. Coverage for licensed or certified professional midwives at home or in birth centers depends on the specific California Medicaid plan and does not apply to every enrollee. Escondido families can compare 15 midwives practicing within 60 miles. Private insurance benefits vary, so review your plan’s network and maternity-care terms.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

Hello! My name is Naomi. I am a newborn care specialist, doula, and aspiring Midwife. I have been working with infants for over 10 years, primarily focusing on the newborn stage. I have extensive experience working with multiples, all feeding support, even g-tube feeding. I am a community centered provider, which is why I am working towards being certified as a Full Spectrum Doula training and hopefully midwifery school. When it comes to providing post-partum support, my philosophies are gentle and feeding led. I want my clients to feel supported, and I want to help build their confidence caring for their children without overstepping.

Recent review

Naomi is a wonderful doula and newborn care specialist. She listened and cares for all of her clients and their extended family members! She became a wonderful member of the family during her time with us. She provided prenatal care during pregnancy, including nursery and home walkthroughs and daily check-ins leading up to the birth of our twins. She was a wonderful partner at the hospital and supported all of our wishes during and after the birth. When we arrived home, she helped us tremendously, bringing home twins and adjusting to our new lives as parents. She helped us create a schedule, organize our home, breastfeeding and bottle feeding, and daily activities while we were at home. She is an invaluable resource, doing research and providing updates during overnights so we can address things in the morning. She also provided feedback for our doctors when one of the twins had some feeding issues and was supportive of our decisions, while also providing educated insight and feedback to help. She is the most wonderful person to have on your team, and I think she provides so much to every family she works with.
