I plan to give birth at the hospital. I need help coming up with a comprehensive birth plan. My goal is to spend $1500 for a doula.

We are looking for an experienced postpartum doula to support a first-time mother (age 35) and newborn, with a strong emphasis on maternal recovery after childbirth. The ideal candidate will be attentive to the mother’s physical healing and overall well-being, while also providing guidance as we adjust to life with a newborn. Requirements: Minimum 3 years of postpartum doula experience Infant CPR certification Fluent in English Experience supporting breastfeeding (flexible based on how feeding evolves) Support Needed Postpartum recovery support for mom for 6 weeks (including monitoring and comfort care) Newborn care and education for first-time parents Sleep training guidance Light household support (e.g., laundry) We are hoping to find someone compassionate, knowledgeable, and proactive, who can balance hands-on support with education and reassurance for new parents. I'd like to find someone to help coach me and my husband for labor and help advocate for me in the hospital setting, for example making sure I can deliver my placenta naturally and wait for the umbilical cord to turn white before cutting.
