I have always enjoyed helping others. I started my training in the medical field at the young age of 17 when I became a Certified Nurse Assistant. I continued my studies and became a Certified Medical Assistant, Although pregnancy was not easy for my body I thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant. With each pregnancy I was taught natural ways to cope and how to give my body what it needed. This gave me the desire to help other women, that desire continued to grow through each of my 5 pregnancies/ births to the point that I delivered my last baby unassisted and was able to catch her myself. I began my formal training with DONA in 2022 and became a certified birth doula in 2023. I have since worked with 4 midwives. in doing so I have gained great hands on experience and knowledge. I have been blessed to help many women through their own birth experiences. I look forward to continuing to serve and empower women for years to come. I want to continue the tradition of empowering and enriching women’s pregnancies and births, like my midwives did for me. Being a doula I get to do just that

Amanda of Avocado Doula, completed DONA International doula training and is soon to be ICEA birth doula certified. Amanda is working to provide birth and postpartum doula services to the Fargo-Moorhead area. Amanda is the first Evidence Based Birth® Instructor in the state of North Dakota. She is also a certified Body Ready Method Pro, and has done continuing education with Spinning Babies workshops and other courses.
