Alyssa Lake

Congratulations! My name is Alyssa. I've been a doula since 2013. I became a doula shortly after the birth of my first born when I experienced a tremendous lack of support. I felt alone and isolated and overwhelmed with the contradicting information online. After connecting with other moms within the community, I learned that I wasn't an outlier and this experience was far too common. I studied with Penny Lyon and Ann Pollack in 2013 and became certified with DONA shortly after. Later in 2013, I began working at a local birth center as a midwife assistant to further my medical training. It reaffirmed that I was meant to be a doula serving families within my community. As a certified yoga instructor since 2006, I started integrating Prenatal yoga and doula work. It truly felt like the most comprehensive way to support families by bringing them affective and age old tools to cope with labor pains. Since 2013, I've proudly served over 1000 families. I'm the co-founder of In Joy Birth, a doula training company/agency located in Orlando, Florida. In 2023, I moved my family to the greater Denver area to be close to the mountains where I am currently serving families. I'm passionate about continuing education and am currently working on finishing my Pediatric Sleep Consulting certification. I'm also BLS/CPR certified, and Carrot approved. I work with only one family at a time so that I can provide individualized care to each one of my families.

Alyssa was a part of my dream team for all 3 births of my boys. My husband and I knew we wanted a small intimate birth in a hospital with only our doula, Dr/midwife and the nurses on shift. Each birth, Alyssa supported my husband by telling him how to help me so I was able to stay focused on my labor. I truly feel because of Alyssa and my other dream team members I was able to have 3 beautiful, unmedicated births and recover with no complications. I'm forever grateful for Alyssa's love and support during my birth process as well as support after each birth! She is amazing and you will be so glad to have her by your side during such a vulnerable time.

Hi! Im Chrystal. Thank you for being here! I’m a DONA-certified birth doula dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to families throughout pregnancy and labor. Based in Littleton, I share my home with my husband and our beloved Springer Spaniel, Fisher. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Regis University and previously worked as a nurse aide and a midwife’s assistant, experiences that shaped my deep respect for both clinical care and the natural wisdom of birth. I began working as a doula in 2022, earned my certification in 2023, and have since had the honor of supporting more than 60 families. I have attended births of all varieties including home births, VBACs, cesarean, unmedicated, assisted, and more. Outside of birth work, I love spending time outdoors; identifying plants, hiking, camping, or simply walking with Fisher. I love the warmth from the sun and the sound of birds, they give me life! You’ll often find me enjoying a cup of tea with a good book, exploring creative outlets, or spending an afternoon wandering through Barnes & Noble or World Market. My guilty pleasure is rewatching media I’ve already seen and love, or rereading old books that I can’t forget. I like to think of my role as a consultant, advocate, and fairy godmother all in one. I support you in achieving your dream birth by offering continuous physical and emotional care, helping you maintain informed consent, and empowering your instincts while holding space for this incredible experience. I also work closely with your partner, giving them the confidence and tools to provide meaningful emotional and physical comfort. I value organization, timely communication, and nonjudgmental care. My goal for my clients is a labor that feels peaceful, informed, and joyful. In the labor room, my focus is always on my client’s comfort and their overall goals for birth. I prioritize finding the balance between letting labor unfold naturally and offering suggestions when they can truly make a positive difference. I often joke that just because I know Spinning Babies doesn’t mean I’m going to “flip you like a pancake”—those tools are there when they’re needed, not as a default. To me, your intuition is VIP, and medicine is a powerful tool we can use when it supports your safety and your vision. Past clients have mentioned my calm, reassuring presence and my soothing voice helping to ground them in intense moments. My top two favorite parts of attending births are feeling like I have helped, and the look on your face when you realize; “I DID IT!” Thanks again for being here and congratulations!!

In November 2025 my beautiful daughter Amanda came into the world and the whole pregnancy I asked God to allow me to have a non-medicated, respected and as physiological birth as possible. Thanks to the support that Chrystal gave me from my third trimester I was able to reposition my baby in the uterus for a vaginal delivery and learn to breathe correctly, a resource that changed the game during my delivery. During labor Chrystal assisted me with pain management techniques and I was able to have my baby without the need to use an epidural as I longed for. She made my husband and me a team, she made us feel safer and more accompanied. He also took photos of us that I will treasure forever, very beautiful. If I have another child I will want to count on her again. Do not hesitate to contact her.

Greetings! I'm Karisa Totah, a certified birth doula and postpartum doula (through DONA International). I'm also Spinning Babies trained and a Body Ready Method certified Pro. I live in Littleton, CO with my husband, near my best friend and her babies. I serve the Denver Metro area, usually within 25 miles of my home. Birth, babies, and parenting have been a life-long fascination of mine, even since I was little. I nerd-out over the smallest baby and birth details and absolutely adore helping and learning from each new family I meet. I firmly believe that both the research and my experience support the idea that doulas reduce anxiety. The birthing year can be such a stressful one if you don't know what to expect, don't have the support you need, and don't have people watching out for you. I love filling in the gap to educate and empower, support and love, encourage and help you find joy in this journey. My motto is: "Replacing anxiety with courage, fear with knowledge, discouragement with hope, and overwhelm with joy."

I want to take a moment to share just how grateful we are for our doula, Karisa someone who has become one of the most important people in our entire journey to becoming parents. From the very beginning, she showed a level of patience, compassion, and understanding that is rare to find in this world. During my wife’s pregnancy, my father was dying, and I spent a lot of time out of state. By the time he passed, I had only two months to prepare myself to become a dad emotionally, mentally, and practically. It was one of the hardest periods of my life, and Karisa stepped in with the kind of guidance and support I didn’t even know I needed. She taught me everything I needed to know with kindness and positivity. She motivated me, encouraged me, and made me feel capable at a time when I was overwhelmed. She didn’t just show up as a doula she showed up as a leader, a teacher, and someone who genuinely cared about our family. When the day finally came for our son to be born, Karisa was absolutely incredible. She was on point from the first moment, bringing calm, clarity, reassurance, and real hands-on expertise. She made every part of the birth easier, more comforting, and more understandable. I truly cannot imagine going through that experience without her. She played such a big part in making the birth of our son a beautiful, positive, and empowering moment. And her support didn’t end there. After our son arrived, she stayed with us for many hours, helping, teaching, explaining, and making sure mama was taken care of. Her presence brought so much peace and confidence during a time where everything was brand new and overwhelming. Karisa didn’t just help with a pregnancy and a birth — she helped shape one of the most important chapters of our lives. She kept everything on track from the very beginning, helped us grow into our roles, and gave us the tools and support we needed when we needed them most. We are forever grateful for her. She truly is the best. 💙

Hello, my name is Marissa and I'm honored to meet you. I am fascinated by the innate, primitive, and beautiful ability of our bodies to create new life. A hodgepodge of things led me to becoming a certified birth doula and yoga instructor. The two most influential being the births of my own babes. Those close to me would say I have a unique ability to calm a situation, hold a positive space, and intuitively allow things to be. These qualities made sense as a Doula. Additionally, yoga is a big part of my life (a lifestyle, I'd say...) and was immensely helpful through my pregnancies. That's why I offer a holistic approach with prenatal yoga to prepare your mind/body/spirit for an optimal birth. As an LGBTQIA+ doula, I understand that families can be built in many different ways. All that matters is that when a family is created, it happens on a foundation of love, support, trust, and safety. For birthing people, my intention is to support you tenaciously in having the most empowering, transformative, and safe birthing experience as possible. We are not meant to birth alone. As human beings bringing new human beings into the world, it is pivotal to feel affirmed and validated during our most vulnerable and authentic moments. I want you to look back on your birth experience and feel triumphant! No matter what you’ve been through in the past, or what you are envisioning currently, I am here to 100% support your goals and help them come to fruition. For those not birthing and creating a family in a different way, my intention is to support you through all aspects of your unique experience; Planning, transitioning, bringing baby home, etc. I can offer resources and referrals for all of your family's needs. More importantly I can provide Empathy, Compassion, and Presence.

We hired Marissa to be our birth doula and we couldn't be happier with that choice. She visited us couple of times before the due date and she was with us throughout labor and delivery and also saw us a couple of times after the birth of our son. Having her with us in the delivery room was very helpful as she coached me through the contractions consistently. She also supported and cheered us on during difficult times and helped us make the right choices for our labor and delivery. She is really sweet and we connected with her instantly since day 1. We highly recommend her.

Stephanie brings it! She makes the entire pregnancy, birth & postpartum experience so special and sacred. She is a master ceremonialist and always, I mean always, has flowers and magical honey. You will be so doted upon: from your first visit together; to your mother blessing ceremony; all the birth waves; to mother roasting, belly wraps, and yummy nourishing broths; to an intuitive placental reading; to expert breastfeeding support; to the final bittersweet closing ceremony. She will make your birth space cavelike and sparkly with fairy lights, candles, affirmations, a wonderful fan, and flowers. She will guide you through the waves and challenges, keeping you grounded and cracking jokes for levity. She's also a mama so she deeply understands what her clients are going through. All I can say is Dou-la-la!
