I am a birth doula, with dona certified training (February, 2023). I seek to support all mothers in whatever decision they find is best for themselves and their baby. Hospitals, birth centers, or at home, with whatever medical assistance, or naturally and without intervention, as long they feel educated and confident in their decision. I will be there to ensure that you are adjusting physically, as well as mentally and emotionally for this journey. Nice to meet you! I’m Alyssa. I’m a boy mama x 2. After having two very different birth experiences, I’m passionate about supporting and educating parents leading up to birth and beyond. With a long induction + c-section birth and also a non-medicated VBAC under my belt, I feel well equipped to support all moms. I love to integrate a holistic approach to birth work, but I also appreciate modern medicine when truly needed. Every mom has their wants and needs when envisioning the birth that they desire, and I love helping them get from where they are to where they want to be. I value breastfeeding and postpartum wellness as well and love to help moms troubleshoot or problem solve when needed. The saying “it takes a village” holds a special place with me as I often feel pulled to be that village for fellow mamas. I strive to make other moms feel appreciated, supported, informed, and confident in their God-given abilities! I live in the Indianapolis area with my husband + our two boys. I love mom hangs, adventuring with my fam, being my kids biggest cheerleader + checking out new local food and coffee spots with my husband.

My work centers on preparing the heart and the body for birth in a way that is free from fear, free from industrial medical narratives, and grounded in certainty in Allah’s wisdom and decree. I guide women to understand the physiology of undisturbed birth, to strengthen their iman and yaqeen, and to approach motherhood as an act of worship rather than a medical event. I support sisters who desire a homebirth or freebirth (unassisted birth at home), who are navigating pregnancy outside of the system, healing from past birth experiences, or preparing their hearts for birth with clarity and spiritual steadiness. I also serve women who are seeking to reclaim their authority, their trust in Allah’s design, and their confidence as mothers rooted in tawheed rather than fear.

My name is Ashke. I serve families in the Bloomington, Indiana area as a perinatal guide. I am a mother, educator, herbalist, nutritionist, and doula dedicated to supporting women through the sacred journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I combine my experience and knowledge of traditional birth wisdom and clinical western herbalism based in the tradition of Vitalism to guide families through this important time. After birthing my son at home, I felt the call to help other women navigate through their experience of pregnancy and birth. I bring a holistic approach to my work, grounded in the values of informed consent, inclusivity, and compassionate care. I completed my doula training with Birthing from Within and did a one year apprenticeship with experienced doulas in Colorado Springs. I am a Certified Clinical Herbalist and Nutritionist through the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism. I also offer TRE (Trauma & Tension Release Exercises) as part of my practice. TRE is a transformative type of bodywork that allows the body to release patterns of tension and stress stored in the body. I offer this to birthing parents both prenatally and postpartum. I now serve families in the Bloomington, Indiana area.

Hey mamas! I’m Sheena, Owner of Courage To Birth. I am a birth and postpartum doula. I am located near Anderson IN, and support clients near madison, hamilton, and marion county. After the birth of my son in 2020, I felt being a doula was my calling. I have been a doula for just shy of two years. I am certified through H.E.R.B.A.L & recently became certified for placenta encapsulation as well. I believe birth is a natural physiological process.
