We feel so lucky to have had Better Beginnings as our postpartum doula provider. I’m not usually one to take the time to review any service, but when it’s this exceptional I don’t have a choice but to take the time out of my day so others, like myself, seeking postpartum support from an expertly run business can find Better Beginnings and their amazing team. Our second child spent 8 months not sleeping. My husband and I thought we would figure it out like we did with our first, but we realized we needed help. From our first phone call with Hallie, to meeting with Chelsie (postpartum doula and sleep coach) and receiving a comprehensive routine, we felt heard and supported. We went into this with literally nothing to lose and we gained more than I could have imagined. From no or very inconsistent contact naps and multiple night wakes including a feed - to two naps a day and sleeping through the night with no feeds, our son is finally sleeping and developmentally thriving. Hallie was my postpartum doula for both of my births and was such a gift to our family. Even though both of my babies births went smoothly and they (and I) were healthy - those first few months of adjusting to a newborn were so overwhelming and hard. Having Hallie come in and support me and my husband was one of the best things we could have had during those early newborn days. Hallie is so gentle, kind, understanding and trustworthy. She also is very experienced in breastfeeding and helped me tremendously in my breastfeeding journey with both of my girls (but especially my first daughter when the learning curve was extra steep!). With each visit, Hallie made me feel more like myself, she helped me feel so taken care of, she listened to my concerns and worries and also helped my body rest. I trusted her completely with my babies and let he hold them while I slept - and I am so grateful for our time that we had with her. If you are thinking of hiring a postpartum Doula - just do it - it was some of the best money I've ever spent!
