Service introduction

i am a certified infant massage educator providing postpartum wellness support in the form of nurturing bonding spaces that cultivate community togetherness and center the experience of our babies while encouraging feelings of joy, love and secure attachment. i seek to (re)educate parents and caregivers on the importance and mighty power of NURTURING TOUCH for tiny humans. i believe that touch is healing medicine and the ultimate key to human connection. my teachings are based in ancestral knowledge, observations in postpartum doula work and research studies on the existence of nurturing touch. Ive observed practices of other mammals as well as practices in societies and countries that prioritize touch culture, something that we here in the states have by default, abandoned for the sake of "individualism" and "self-reliance" touch is our first sense to develop at 7-8 weeks gestation. in infancy, touch is our first language and primary means of communicating with the world around us. as we morph into adulthood, our skin remains our largest organ and vessel for communication with external world. touch is key to how we understand our environment and connect with others. i offer in-person and virtual spaces for groups, individuals and families of precrawlers(0-6 months) as well as expectant families. lastly -- i am a queer black woman and Matriarch here to ultimately provide support and care to my human community as my ancestors intended. all identities, ages, sexualities, genders and alternative family models are welcome here.
