Hi, I’m Jennifer! I’m a registered nurse who loves supporting new moms and babies during those very first weeks together. I specialize in working with postpartum families from birth through the first 6 weeks, which means I’m often one of the first people helping you get comfortable and confident as you begin your breastfeeding journey. Those early days can come with a lot of questions, emotions, and unexpected challenges, and my goal is to make feeding feel less overwhelming and much more manageable. Whether you are learning how to latch, wondering if your baby is getting enough, working on milk supply, pumping, or simply trying to understand what is normal, I’m here to support you with warmth, patience, and practical guidance. I believe every family deserves lactation support that feels encouraging, judgment-free, and personalized to their goals. There is no one “right” way to feed your baby, and together we can create a plan that works for you, your baby, and your real life. I’m happy to meet families where they are most comfortable, including in the hospital when appropriate, in your home, or for an office visit. Hospital Breastfeeding Support

You don’t have to wait until you get home to ask for help. When available and permitted by your hospital, I can meet you within the first 24hrs after delivery and help you get breastfeeding started. What to expect

I offer personalized lactation and new-parent support designed especially for the earliest days and weeks after birth. My services include breastfeeding and newborn education, immediate postpartum support, latch and positioning assistance, pumping guidance, milk supply concerns, and help understanding normal newborn feeding and behavior. I also work with first-time parents who may simply need reassurance, hands-on teaching, and someone to help make those first days at home feel a little less overwhelming. I especially enjoy supporting families who need a little extra help getting breastfeeding started, including babies with difficult or painful latches, sleepy feeders, and babies transitioning home after a NICU stay. I can help assess what may be making feeding difficult, work with you on comfortable positions and latch techniques, and create a practical plan that supports both your feeding goals and your baby’s needs. Whether I meet you shortly after delivery, in your home, or during an office visit, my goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident as you settle into life with your new baby.

When should I schedule a lactation visit?

You do not have to wait until breastfeeding feels difficult. Many families schedule support in the first few days after birth to help establish a comfortable latch, understand feeding cues, and build confidence early. I work primarily with mothers and babies from birth through 6 weeks postpartum.

Can you help if my baby is having trouble latching?

Yes. Difficult, shallow, painful, or inconsistent latches are some of the most common reasons parents seek support. We can work together on positioning, latch techniques, feeding patterns, and possible reasons feeding may be difficult.

Can you see me while I am still in the hospital?

When permitted by the hospital and based on availability, I may be able to provide additional one-on-one breastfeeding support during your hospital stay. Please contact me as early as possible to discuss availability.

Do you work with NICU babies?

Yes. I support families transitioning home after a NICU stay, including breastfeeding, bottle-feeding strategies, pumping, protecting milk supply, and helping parents become more comfortable feeding their baby at home.

What happens during a lactation visit?

We will talk about your feeding goals and concerns, review your baby's feeding history, observe a feeding when appropriate, and work together on latch, positioning, pumping, milk supply, or other concerns. You will leave with practical recommendations and a plan tailored to you and your baby.

What if I am pumping or combination feeding?

That is absolutely okay. Lactation support is not only for parents who exclusively breastfeed. I can help with pumping, milk supply, bottle feeding, combination feeding, and developing a routine that works for your family.

Will you tell me I have to exclusively breastfeed?

No. My role is to help you reach your feeding goals, not choose them for you. I believe families deserve evidence-based information, encouragement, and support without judgment or pressure.

Do you offer support for first-time parents who just have questions?

Absolutely. You do not need to have a breastfeeding “problem” to schedule a visit. I also provide newborn and feeding education for parents who want reassurance, hands-on teaching, and help understanding what to expect during the first few weeks.

Can my partner or support person participate?

Definitely. Partners and support people are welcome. Feeding and caring for a newborn is a team effort, and I am happy to include them in education and teach ways they can support you and your baby.

What ages do you work with?

My specialty is the immediate postpartum period, working with mothers and babies from birth through approximately 6 weeks. My goal is to help you establish feeding, navigate those early challenges, and feel confident as you begin your breastfeeding journey.
