The cost of a midwife in Kettle Point, ON can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

In Ontario, midwifery care is covered under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), meaning residents of Kettle Point, ON, who are eligible for OHIP will not have to pay out of pocket for midwifery services. This includes prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care provided by registered midwives. However, it is important to confirm with local midwifery practices to ensure availability, as demand for midwives can be high, and services may vary slightly between communities.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Kettle Point, ON, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

Linda May Hill-D'Ascanio

11 years of experience
Packages from $200

Hello birthing parents! My name is Linda May. I am an experienced doula ( over 12 years ). Congratulations on beginning your journey into motherhood! As a mother of four babies I remember what an exciting but also a little frightening time this is. I love being a doula because I can help women decrease their fear and turn it into empowerment. My background as a nurse helps me to understand the scientific evidence that shows having a doula as part of your birth decreases labour times and the need for interventions. It is wonderful that you’ve been able to reach out and find support. As In May Gaskin said, we are not lemons! I strongly resonate with her belief that we were created to birth, and it would be my honour to support you and help give you the birth that you are looking for, whatever that means for you. Sincerely, Linda May. Ps. Please bear with me with regards to my social media presence! I am in the process of updating everything including my website. Anything you wish to know please do not hesitate to contact me directly. (519)852-4064

I was so thankful for Linda’s support overall and especially leading up to labor. She was very emotionally and spiritually invested in supporting me as I prepared to deliver a third baby after a traumatic labor with my second. I loved having her support during labor, and I felt less lonely after my baby was born when they were checking him over. She stayed with me while everyone else was focused on the baby and that meant so much to me. She also stayed much longer than she needed to, to make sure she could offer support with breastfeeding. These were some of the many joys of having Linda involved, I would highly recommend her given her emotional and spiritual support, and physical support before, during and after labour. She was SO helpful, and was instrumental in redeeming my second labour with this third one. It was a beautiful and much more positive experience!

I’m incredibly proud to write this review for my daughter as she begins her journey as a doula. From the very start, she has approached this role with genuine passion, care, and dedication. Having completed her training and already supported her first birth, she has shown that she is more than ready to take on this important work. She is a deeply loving and supportive presence, someone who naturally puts others at ease. Her attentiveness and strong sense of responsibility ensure that nothing is overlooked—she is both detail-oriented and highly task-focused, which brings a sense of calm and confidence to those around her during such an important time. What stands out most is her ability to truly be present. She listens, she cares, and she shows up fully for the families she supports. I have no doubt that she will continue to grow and excel as a doula, making a meaningful difference in the lives of many. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate, reliable, and thoughtful support during their birth experience.

Alycia Tollar

4 years of experience
Packages from $100

My name is Aly, and I’m the proud owner of Nurturing and Nesting, a birth and postpartum doula practice dedicated to supporting and empowering mothers through every stage of their journey. I created Nurturing and Nesting to provide thorough, personalized care that helps families thrive before, during, and after birth. My mission is to educate and empower parents with the knowledge and tools they need to care for themselves and their newborns, all while honouring the sacred experience of birth. I’ve always had a deep love for nurturing, whether it’s caring for babies, toddlers, or children, or fostering meaningful relationships with friends, family, and even pets. I truly believe that with the right mindset, atmosphere, and support, birth can be a transcendent experience, one that leaves a lasting, positive impact on both parents and their little one. It’s about creating a space where love, confidence, and calm can grow.

Alycia came into my home postpartum to help me both with childcare and some small housekeeping. Her experience with children speaks for itself. She’s not only kind, patient, and compassionate, she’s also naturally comfortable caring for children. Having a support in your home postpartum that is strictly there to support you is an invaluable experience. Having not only help with my baby and some help cleaning up, but also just a nonjudgmental, knowledgeable source to speak all things postpartum to, really lightened the postpartum mental load. I would welcome Alycia into my home to help with my baby and I anytime.
