Birth Support
From active labor through the birth of your baby, I'll be by your side providing continuous emotional support, hands-on comfort measures, encouragement, and advocacy so you can feel informed, confident, and supported throughout your birth experience. 1.5-hour Prenatal and Postpartum Education & Planning Session + On-call starting at 36 weeks gestation + Continuous Labor Support + Immediate Postpartum Support
Postpartum Support
Whether during the day, evening, or overnight, receive compassionate in-home support as you rest and recover. I'll provide newborn care, feeding support, light home support, and a nurturing presence while your family adjusts to life with your new baby. - 4 to 12 hour shifts.
Education & Planning
A one-on-one session covering your birth preferences, comfort strategies, and what to expect during labor. We'll create a personalized birth plan together. - 1 to 2 hour session.
Workshop
An interactive session focused on hands-on comfort measures, partner support techniques, or preparing your home for labor and postpartum. - 2 hour workshop
One-on-One
Need guidance without committing to full doula services? These personalized one-on-one sessions offer individualized education, planning, consultation, and support tailored to your unique questions and goals. Available at sliding-scale prices, this community offering is designed to make compassionate, personalized support more accessible throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. - 1 hour session - Sliding Scale: $50, $75, and $100 options.
What to expect
Simone Cotton is a Detroit native and a Full-Spectrum Community Doula. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Spelman College. In 2025, she completed 52 hours of full-spectrum doula training with Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. Here, she received comprehensive preparation in prenatal, birth, and postpartum support, as well as education on the social and historical context of birth work. She has served as a volunteer with the Dial-a-Doula program at the University of Michigan Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital. During this program, she underwent OR Support and Eat, Sleep, Console Training. Most recently, she has joined Michigan Family Doulas as a member of their birth and postpartum doula teams. She is also certified in BLS/CPR and HIPAA-compliant. She is a member of the National Black Doulas Association and an Evidence-Based Birth Pro member. Her approach is grounded in years of reproductive justice and LGBTQ+ advocacy, as well as community organizing and mentorship. She is also involved in community work and research centered on health equity and public health, bringing an evidence-informed lens to her work. In addition, she is a creative storyteller, utilizing the mediums of content creation and dance as tools for education, advocacy, and community connection. She provides holistic, affirming care that centers autonomy, informed choice, and advocacy, with the goal of helping clients feel empowered throughout their birth experience. Her services currently include prenatal education and planning, labor support and advocacy, birth partner guidance, and postpartum planning and support.
