Hello, my name is Laaziza Ouabi. I am a trained midwife from Morocco with over five years of experience supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, which helps me understand and support the emotional and mental health needs of new mothers and families. Since moving to Ottawa, I have worked as a Personal Support Worker, gaining hands-on experience in providing personal care, emotional support, and daily assistance. Alongside my clinical work, I create educational content on social media where I share pregnancy and postpartum tips with a growing community of mothers, which has strengthened my ability to connect with families and offer guidance in a supportive, accessible way. I am truly passionate about helping families during the delicate postpartum period—whether it’s supporting breastfeeding, establishing healthy sleep routines, or simply providing reassurance and a calm presence during night care. My goal as a doula is to make the transition to parenthood smoother, safer, and more positive for both parents and babies.

As a Birth and Postpartum Doula, I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. During labor, I offer reassurance, encouragement, and comfort measures such as breathing techniques, relaxation, massage, and positioning suggestions, while helping reduce anxiety and ensuring the birthing person’s wishes are respected. I also guide partners and loved ones, encouraging their meaningful involvement and strengthening family bonds. After birth, I support immediate postpartum recovery, including skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding, and newborn adjustment. In the weeks that follow, I assist with newborn care—feeding, soothing, safe sleep, and routines—while also providing compassionate emotional support to parents as they navigate mood changes, postpartum recovery, and their new roles. My care extends to practical household help such as light chores, sibling support, and meal preparation, ensuring families have the time and energy to focus on bonding and healing. Above all, I empower parents with evidence-based information, guidance, and advocacy, helping them feel confident, supported, and cared for during one of the most important transitions of their lives.
We had a great experience with Laaziza, she was very helpful for me and my family we are really happy that we hired her.
