About me

Hey there, I'm Laura (often known by toddlers as Lowa, Yowa, Yoya, Lolie, Wawa, Wora, or Lala). I’ve supported hundreds of people at various stages of their pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and/or parenting journeys and spent many long, beautiful days and nights caring for little ones as early as their first day. I've seen the blissful joy, the belly laughs, the overwhelming heartbreak, the confusion and indecision, the long sleepless nights, and the uncontrollable tears, and I am here for it all. I'm a certified full spectrum doula providing loving newborn care and physical, emotional, and informational support to anyone who is, thinks they might be, or recently was pregnant. I support all family structures and all possible pregnancy outcomes and experiences. Wherever you're at in your pregnancy or parenting journey, I'm here to support you every step of the way and help you get the care that you need and deserve, from information and brainstorming to emotional and physical support.

Hi there, I'm Laura! I specialize in overnight, in-home postpartum and newborn care that helps you feel nourished, rested, and understood. I'm here to help with feeding, diapering, soothing, and safe sleep support, and can also help you understand your baby and their needs through lactation and pumping support and general newborn care and development education. I am also a certified birth doula and can offer prenatal and labor support in addition to any postpartum package.

Birth Support and Getting Started Postpartum
This package includes two 2-hour prenatal visits, unlimited texting support (with responses within 12 hours), hands-on labor support (on call starting at week 37), and 25 hours of postpartum/newborn care, which can be divided up into 5-hour daytime shifts and/or 10-hour nighttime shifts.

The Fourth Trimester
This postpartum package is designed to carry you through the early stages of postpartum healing and adjusting to life with your new baby. It includes unlimited texting/phone support for the duration of our contract, in addition to 100 hours of in-home care. This can include overnight or daytime newborn care, cooking, meal-prep and housekeeping, as well as processing your birth story and helping you build systems that will sustain you beyond these early days.

Overnight Newborn Care
Not sure how much care you're going to need? This package offers an opportunity to try out overnight postpartum support without a bigger commitment. I'll come over in the evening, meet you and your baby, chat about how the day went, and then you'll go rest while I take care of feedings, diaper changes, and soothing so you can get some good uninterrupted sleep. I'll also take care of baby laundry and bottle washing so you can start the next day refreshed. Typical overnight shifts are 10 hours, usually around 9pm-7am, but can shift to meet your needs.

I employ Laura as a part-time nanny to care for my 18-month old and 4-year old. Laura is amazing. She is kind, patient, thoughtful, gentle, a wonderful communicator, trustworthy, intelligent, and professional. My kids love her and she does a wonderful job taking care of both kids at the same time. She helps them play together, keeps them safe and happy, and is very respectful of our parenting choices for them. Both kids find Laura very soothing, and were comfortable playing with her and talking to her from the first. She responds to the kids right away when they need something and is always 100% engaged with them. I highly recommend her!
