I had the pleasure of working with Lorrie as my doula for the birth of my first child, and I truly cannot recommend her enough. From the start, she put my mind at ease, building my confidence through her deep knowledge of the birthing process. She helped me navigate my options to create a flexible birth plan that felt exactly right for me. Our weekly virtual prenatal yoga sessions were a lifesaver—not only for stress reduction but for mental preparation. Lorrie tailored every pose to my needs and taught me breathing techniques that became essential during labor. She even prepared my support team so they knew exactly how to show up for me. My goal was to labor at home as long as possible. Thanks to Lorrie’s calm guidance through intense contractions, I arrived at the hospital 8cm dilated! Even when things took an unexpected turn resulting in an emergency C-section and a NICU stay, Lorrie stayed by my side. She gave me the tools to advocate for myself and provided constant encouragement during a difficult time. Lorrie provides holistic, culturally appropriate care that every birthing person deserves. I’m now a healthy mama to a healthy baby boy, and I can't wait to have her support me again for my next child.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience working with Lorrie. My husband and I worked with her from pregnancy through postpartum with our first child. Something we really appreciated about her in the pregnancy phase was that she gave us lots of space to create our own birth plan, while asking guiding questions to help us sort out our thoughts and preferences. She offered suggestions without imposing or insisting. When it came time for the birth, Lorrie read the room and made herself available at just the right moments. She held our preferences and asked questions of the medical team on our behalf which was truly so skillful and appreciated. Lorrie has a calm and mellow presence, and a great sense of humor. She was a rock throughout and will always be part of our birth story. We would work with her again in a heartbeat!

When thinking about trying for baby #2 I started to really reflect unpack my first pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. This time around I had a better of an idea how I wanted this pregnancy and birth to go and was hoping to stick to that but I knew I’d need some help. Turns out my talented friend Lorrie is also a doula and we started our work together. Throughout the pregnancy Lorrie made me feel heard, empowered, and safe. She encouraged me to ask questions and set up routines that would protect my mental health both during pregnancy and postpartum. Lorrie also made sure Scott was included, that his voice was heard, and made sure he felt like a valued part of the team. Lorrie was available to answer all of my questions, set us up with strategies the night of my induction and was there throughout the whole process. Birth was no joke, especially with my hopes to labor without an epidural. During labor I was able to stick to my birthing plan which meant I was more present and felt so powerful. Lorrie and Scott made sure I was hydrated, that I rested when I was able to, that I was safe, and that I felt in control. It felt good to welcome Luca into a space where we could just focus on loving him. Lorrie continued to follow up with postpartum visits where she made sure I was taken care of, where she played with Grace, and checked in on Luca. This whole experience is something I’ll remember forever. For anyone considering hiring a doula, I highly recommend Lorrie. She is amazing!!
