Meet Arizona licensed midwife Giuliana Pica, the passionate force behind Empowered Goddess Birth. She launched this inspiring venture in 2020, initially as a doula and childbirth education business, all while dreaming of evolving it into a vibrant home birth midwifery practice. In February 2021, Giuliana dove headfirst into her midwifery apprenticeship at a local birth center. There, she immersed herself in the art of midwifery, attending both birth center and home births, while learning from an accomplished array of preceptors—including licensed midwives, certified nurse midwives, and a community-based obstetrician. Fast forward to 2024, Giuliana proudly completed her training and passed both her national certification exam, and state licensing test, officially transforming Empowered Goddess Birth into her dream home birth midwifery practice. Giuliana maintains both CPR and NRP certifications, has attended a breech training workshop hosted by Breech Without Borders, completed a shoulder dystocia training course through Spinning Babies, and has attended 3 midwifery skills workshops hosted by the Midwifery Wisdom Collective. She is passionate about and committed to expanding her knowledge base. In the spring of 2024 she also welcomed earthside her first child, Odin. His home waterbirth was a deeply spiritual and soul nourishing experience. Since then, she’s been savoring every magical moment of motherhood alongside her partner Nicholas, as they embark on this beautiful adventure together. Giuliana believes deeply in the importance of intuitive, empowered healthcare, and is dedicated to supporting women and their families in their unique and transformative journeys, all while bringing a bit of magic and her own intuition to each experience.
