The cost of a night nanny in Meriden, CT can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Meriden, CT, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Michelle was an excellent caregiver to our newborn daughter. Our baby smiled every night when Michelle walked through the door. While we are sad that our time with Michelle is over, she left us in the best place possible - with a baby sleeping 11-12 hrs by 8 weeks.

Hi there! I'm Chelsea – a wife, stay-at-home parent of two, certified birth and postpartum doula, and babywearing educator based in Connecticut. With over two decades of experience working with children and families, my journey includes a master's degree in education and 11 years of teaching music to students from PreK through grade 12. My path to becoming a doula was inspired by the isolating and challenging nature of the postpartum months. Having navigated this journey myself, I realized the importance of support during this period. I aim to alleviate the isolation many face by offering guidance and understanding. Having been the first in my friend group to experience parenthood, I understand the complexities and uncertainties. My role is to provide a compass, steering you away from the confusing and sometimes overwhelming information available online. Join me in creating a supportive community, where I offer education, solidarity, empowerment, strength, and empathy to ease your transition into parenthood

Chelsea was referred to me by a postpartum doula in my first trimester. She was the only birth doula I interviewed because I knew right away that she was the right woman for the job: A no-BS, science-based, level-headed millennial with just the right dose of sarcasm. Ahead of birth, Chelsea visited with me and my husband twice to give us crash courses in labor/delivery, Spinning Baby techniques, and Baby Basics 101 (changing a diaper, installing and using a car seat, swaddling, and babywearing). Thanks to her prep, we felt far less anxious going into labor. At the hospital, it was clear that she has mastered the perfect balance of calm encouragement and strong advocacy with medical providers. She always stays professional, but is never afraid to push back on your behalf. I went through a pretty long and difficult labor but thanks to the support of Chelsea and her colleague Rachel, who joined us for the second half through delivery, I never felt afraid, powerless, or unsafe. After birth, we continued to retain Chelsea's services as long as we could as an overnight/postpartum doula, allowing my husband and I to get much-needed rest as we both went back to work immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chelsea for any doula needs.

I look forward to working with loving families and being part of such a special time in your journey.

Recent review

Leeann joined our family as a Newborn Care Specialist right when our daughter came home from the hospital and quickly became part of our family. I had originally booked her for 6 weeks, mostly nights only, but she was so incredible that I extended her care to 24 hours, 6 days a week for a full 12 weeks. We are first time parents who had no idea what we were doing, but Leeann stepped in and taught us everything in a way that was non-intrusive and respectful. From sleep schedules, to feeding, to baby's development - Leeann is a true expert in all things newborn. She is also very professional and has a website and LLC for her company. What I loved most about Leeann is the way she cared for our daughter. She treated her like she was her own and was so warm and loving from day 1. As weeks went on, it was amazing to see how engaging she was, taking her on walks, reading to her daily, recommending we get certain toys to help with our baby's development. I would keep Leeann forever if I could. While we're sad to see her go (we're transitioning to a nanny once we go back to work), we would love to help her find an amazing family. I would also be more than happy to speak with anyone who is considering Leeann for newborn care - she is just amazing!!!

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. Hi, I’m Ryann, a certified birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and proud mom of four. I live on Long Island, where I’m raising my family and serving growing families in the community I love. My journey into motherhood has deeply shaped who I am and how I show up as a doula. I’ve experienced firsthand the joy, intensity, vulnerability, and transformation that birth and postpartum bring; and I carry that lived wisdom into every space I enter. Before stepping into this work full-time, I spent 13 years in corporate healthcare and hold a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. That experience gives me a strong foundation in organization, communication, and advocacy - skills I now bring into supporting families with clarity, confidence, and care. I’ve always had a passion for supporting women - for advocating when they don’t feel heard, for empowering them when they’re unsure, and for holding space when things feel overwhelming or unpredictable. My mission is to remind every mother that they are worthy of care, choice, and support — no matter how their journey unfolds. Whether you’re planning a home birth surrounded by loved ones, delivering in a hospital, choosing a cesarean, or navigating an unmedicated or medicated birth - I meet you where you are. There is no “right” way to bring a baby into the world, and I tailor my care to support your unique story, values, and vision. Through Four Roots Doula, I offer evidence-based education, emotional support, advocacy, and hands-on care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My role is to be a steady, calm presence - someone you can trust to show up fully, without judgment, with compassion and clarity. I am also CPR certified, adding an extra layer of preparedness and safety to the care I provide. Birth is beautiful. So is the strength that rises in you when you’re supported. I’d be honored to be part of your story.

Hi, I’m Claire. I was inspired after a difficult first birth to learn more about childbirth, pregnancy and lactation and it quickly became a passion to support women in their pregnancies and postpartum periods. I have been honored to spend over 10 years supporting pregnant women. I am a DONA certified doula in childbirth and lactation offering birth, prenatal, and postpartum services. My own births have run the gamut from a Northern California birthing center to NY's largest hospital, giving me unique perspective across the many ways and places women can give birth. Additionally, I have worked as a caregiver for serious medical events outside of birth, giving me the ability to navigate the medical system with efficiency to maximally benefit patients. I utilize an evidence-based and compassionate approach to advocating for parents in the birthing room. I also offer emotional and physical assistance for all birth types and outcomes to a diverse set of families. I am is honored to work with families to give them the best experience possible during their births. Postpartum, I offer home visits and non-judgmental and reassuring lactation support. I was born and raised in Westchester County and am based in Armonk, NY. I am the mother to two young daughters and enjoys exploring the outdoors, photography, sewing and reading outside of my birthwork.

Claire was an invaluable and irreplaceable part of our birth experience. Claire's experience and guidance helped us thoughtfully create a birth plan that met our goals, which included managing my own expectations. As these things go, my birth plan was merely the road map for a very different series of events, and every step of the way, Claire was incredibly supportive in both the physical and emotional elements of the birth of our daughter. Claire’s presence and advocacy was instrumental to my husband and I communicating effectively with the hospital team and her support following the birth was immeasurable, both in hospital and at home post-partum. Her contributions to our birth exceeded my expectations, especially under unexpected circumstances. Claire's practice of providing us with evidence-based information needed to make our own informed decisions was grounding and invaluable. We are so thankful for Claire's support throughout our first pregnancy and birth.

Monica and Alexis are godsends. We will be begging both of them to work with us again when we have our second child! Alexis was our postpartum daytime doula three days a week. She started with us as soon as our son was born, and we ended up extending her contract an extra month because we (and our son) couldn’t bear to be without her! She treated our baby as if he was her own; she is his favorite person in the whole world. She did a wonderful job providing mental health support to both myself and my husband, all while still somehow finding time to cook us delicious meals! Monica was our overnight newborn care specialist. She gave a great sense of security and relief to our family. She was originally scheduled to start 8 weeks after our son's birth, but we begged her to start sooner and she kindly squeezed us into her busy schedule. As a first-time parent, I really appreciated the countless times she provided me invaluable guidance and encouragement. Her network of fellow doulas, baby chiropractors, IBCLCs, babysitters, etc. have also been very helpful. Overall, I wish I could give them both 10 stars! :-)

This mother of 3 has experienced a lot and I'm here to support you as a birth doula. DONA Certified for Birth and Postpartum support, Certified Lactation Consulting, Certified Childbirth Educator, Reiki certified, Body Ready Method and Spinning Babies Trained for labor prep and comfort measures. As long as I have walked the earth, I have been perceived as a creative to the core, a visual artist, and a classical musician. My BFA in Fashion and Textile Design from FIT helped commit that identity but I was always attracted to helping people and understanding how the body works. A few years later, that curiosity challenged me to enroll in a course that was the complete opposite of what I had always been. I survived, flourished, and was 1 of 7 people to graduate from an intense 40 week program when I became a Certified Surgical Technologist. My graduation coincided with becoming pregnant 3 months later, and 9 months after that I graciously took on my next job, being a mommy! Along the way, I worked on my art, let my CST lapse, picked up my bass to occasionally play in orchestras, and had 2 more babies. My family was my focus but as children got older, I found more flexibility to explore the other facets of myself. I have had the luxury to develop my own body of fine art, play in an international orchestra, and discover the incredible gift of being a doula! My background as an artist and musician has taught me how to improvise and individualize every situation based on essential evidence-based ideals. My focus is to give each family a positive, special birth experience. I utilize professional resources, analogies, images, stories, and humor into our time together. My first support opportunities were with three very gracious young ladies at the Malta House. It was through their need for education that I learned how to teach about childbirth, their right to a beautiful birth experience taught me commitment, and their desire for unwavering companionship taught me how to support. I have since earned additional certifications in lactation consulting, childbirth education, and body preparedness for labor in order to better support women in the perinatal space. I am proud to support women in a variety of environments to help advocate for their desired birth!

As a CACHE-Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Postpartum Doula, and Sleep Consultant with over 10 years of childcare experience, I provide knowledgeable, compassionate support to families as they navigate the newborn and postpartum period. My experience with children began in 2015 through volunteer work in Brazil, where I cared for children in orphanages, pediatric cancer hospitals, and low-income daycare centers. After moving to the United States in 2016, I built my professional career primarily around newborn and infant care. In 2022, I completed my Newborn Care Specialist training and have continued to expand my education in newborn care, postpartum support, and infant sleep. Over the years, I have supported families with overnight newborn care, feeding, age-appropriate routines, healthy sleep foundations, and the transition home with a new baby. My experience also includes caring for premature newborns and twins. I understand how vulnerable and overwhelming the early weeks with a newborn can feel, especially while parents are recovering and adjusting to an entirely new rhythm at home. My role is to bring a calm, capable presence into that space. Whether I am caring for a baby overnight so parents can get much-needed rest, helping establish a sustainable routine, or simply providing reassurance and guidance, I tailor my support to the needs of each individual family. I believe excellent newborn care is never one-size-fits-all. I take the time to understand each family’s preferences, parenting philosophy, and goals while providing thoughtful, evidence-based guidance and attentive care for their baby. Families can expect me to be dependable, discreet, organized, and genuinely invested in making the postpartum experience feel more manageable and supported. I am also certified in Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid and remain committed to continuing education and staying current with best practices in newborn and postpartum care. Above all, I want parents to feel confident that while their baby is in my care, they can rest knowing their little one is being cared for with patience, attention, and experience.

With over 20 years of experience supporting families across six countries, I bring a deep understanding of the diverse ways cultures nurture parent-child relationships. My journey into birth work began as a Health Community Worker, advocating for immigrant Latino families in New York. Later, while working at a mental health agency in Connecticut, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that nurturing, consistent, and responsive caregiving has on a child’s development. This realization fueled my passion for family support and led me to become a Birth and Postpartum Doula, ensuring families receive guidance and care from the very start of their parenting journey. Three years ago, I earned my certification in Perinatal Mental Health, allowing me to further support families through the emotional complexities of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Fluent in both Spanish and English, I am dedicated to creating a compassionate and culturally informed space for every family I serve.

Martha brought a level of joy, reassurance and experience to our daughters birth we didn’t even know we needed. Every step of the way through my pregnancy she checked in on me and provided the guidance I needed. Our birth changed pretty rapidly but Martha’s positivity and expertise made the entire experience more enjoyable. We were able to really focus on the birth while she helped guide those around us on decisions we made beforehand. Pregnancy doesn’t just stop after birth, the emotional and physical work continues after you’re home as well. Martha is there by your side through it all! She helped change my postpartum experience immensely, I cannot thank her enough. I will forever recommend The Knitting Doula!
