The cost of a night nanny in Mount Vernon, NY can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Mount Vernon, NY, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Hey, I’m Kaleish, a public health practitioner, doctoral student (in public health) and a certified full-spectrum (birth, postpartum, NICU) doula. I am currently in training to be a high risk doula and a certified community breastfeeding educator. Think of me as your perinatal support person. I support women and birthing people of color who are feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I started this work because I realized how many women of color are navigating pregnancy without the support, guidance, or advocacy they deserve. It deeply concerns me how often Black and Brown women have their concerns dismissed by medical providers—sometimes resulting in traumatic and avoidable birth experiences. Now, I help women and birthing people of color move from feeling unheard and unsure to feeling informed, supported, and empowered to advocate for themselves and their birth preferences. If you’re a woman or birthing person of color feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed—you’re in the right place. This journey is yours. I’m simply here to hold space, answer your questions, and make sure you feel safe, seen, and supported every step of the way. Random Facts: I've supported births at Katz Women's Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Hungtinton Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns and NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. I am a lefty/ left handed. I don't have a sense of direction even with a map, however, I will find my way to support you. I was born in the Caribbean and spent most of my childhood and some of my teenage years living there. I love me some 80s and 90s black sitcoms. Book Your Free Consultation: Book Now via https://calendly.com/kaysgentlehands/30min?back=1&month=2026-07

We had an incredible experience with our birth doula, Elizabeth, and cannot recommend her enough. She is truly down to earth, kind, caring, supportive, and knowledgeable. From the very beginning, Elizabeth made herself available by phone, and we always felt comfortable and confident reaching out with questions before labor. Once I went into labor, it was reassuring to notify her and she generously made herself available to support us. During labor, Elizabeth provided amazing emotional support and helped me through some of the rougher contractions with tools and support. She was also a strong advocate and helped guide us through decision making in the labor process. In addition to offering knowledge and guidance, having another familiar, calming face in the room made a huge difference. Elizabeth took the time to really get to know us before labor and followed up with a visit afterward, which meant so much. Having a doula like Elizabeth added an extra layer of support, advocacy, and reassurance that allowed us to feel more grounded, informed, and cared for throughout the entire experience. We truly loved having her as part of our birth and are so grateful for the role she played in it.

Christina was an absolute godsend for our family after our daughter was born. She was our night nurse for about two months, starting when our daughter was just two days old. Thanks to her, I was able to get the rest I desperately needed during those early postpartum weeks, which made an enormous difference in both my recovery and my mental health. Cookie was incredibly gentle, patient, and loving with our daughter. It was obvious from the very beginning that she truly adores babies and has a gift for caring for them. I'll always remember how sweet she was as she helped me give my daughter her very first bath. As a first time mom with very little baby experience, I learned so much from her. She taught me how to burp our daughter, how much to feed her, which bottle nipples worked best, how to recognize her sleepy cues, and how to soothe and rock her effectively. She was also an invaluable source of support as I learned to breastfeed and pump, while helping us thoughtfully decide when supplementing with formula was the right choice to ensure our daughter was getting what she needed. More than anything, Cookie gave me confidence. She provided so much reassurance during a time that felt completely new and overwhelming. I trusted her wholeheartedly and slept peacefully knowing my daughter was in such capable, loving hands. Beyond being an exceptional caregiver, Cookie is simply a joy to be around. She's warm, funny, and full of stories, and I genuinely enjoyed the positive energy she brought into our home. She even surprised us by bringing Guyanese food from one of her favorite restaurants for us to try, which was such a thoughtful gesture. At the same time, she was always respectful of our home, our routines, and the moments when our family needed quiet time together. We are incredibly grateful for the care, guidance, and kindness Cookie gave our family during one of the most important seasons of our lives. I would recommend her without hesitation to any family looking for an experienced, compassionate, and trustworthy newborn care specialist.

Dedicated Birth and Postpartum Doula, while pursing a nursing degree during my labor and delivery clinical I knew this was my passion to provide compassionate support throughout the birthing process and postpartum. As a certified doula, I bring a wealth of 15 years experience and expertise to every birth and postpartum service, fostering a nurturing and informed environment for birthing individuals and their partners. My journey into birth work began with a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of childbirth and the importance of holistic support during this profound life event. With an open mind for hospital settings and pain relief when needed. I have supported numerous families through various birthing experiences, including hospital births and home births. Allowing couples to have a safe and informative space to relax and have their birth be just as intimate as they'd like. Natural hormones are key into relaxing mom! Music, sound and lighting plays a part in allowing that intimacy to play out. This sets the tone for a calm postpartum recovery onto healing and adaptation to a new routine. My approach to doula care is centered around empathy, education, and advocacy. I have worked seven years as an investigator for medical malpractice and seen what goes wrong when women aren’t allowed informed consent. I am committed to ensuring that each client feels empowered, informed, and respected as they navigate the journey of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. My goal is to provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support, tailoring my services to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual and family whether it be medicated or unmedicated. All women deserve the right to make informed decisions based on there individual needs. Also being a certified life coach for five years has gifted me with the skills to help families navigate through postpartum, new routines/added or changed. But most importantly to give clients the support they need to not feel alone or overwhelmed during these times. Normalizing chaos and not feeling okay, but empowering them to know that they can and will get through these times and they will adjust. While also providing them with lactation support whatever that may be for each families preference. With a warm and nurturing presence, coupled with a steadfast commitment to my clients, I strive to create a positive and empowering birth and postpartum experience that will be cherished for a lifetime. Whether providing emotional support during labor, advocating for informed decision-making, or offering guidance and or resources in the postpartum period, teaching newborn care and up keeping self care. I am forever honored to be a part of each family's unique journey into parenthood. I take great pride in working with woman giving them the care and support they need to trust their mind, body and soul.

She is an excellent advocate who is generous with her time and knowledge, ensuring that both the birthing and support parent were in a good position for the birth experience - before, during, and after. As first-time expecting parents there was a lot to learn even with regard to terminology, medical situations, and the outcomes that we wanted to achieve. Alisha's confidence makes you confident. She's great under pressure and remained communicative throughout our delivery. You can't control how things will unfold on the big day. While we had our best-case scenario planned out, things evolve and we were pressed to navigate changing circumstances when my water broke without any other signs of active labor. This put us on a countdown clock yet we remained calm, opted into certain interventions on our timeline, and were able to achieve the vaginal delivery as intended. We credit this to our preparation and real-time guidance with Alisha. Lastly, Alisha just has a great personality and treats you as a real friend. She genuinely cares about you as more than just clients and we looked forward to our time spent with her. We strongly recommend working with Alisha for any of the services that she offers!

Chandel is a gem! She was communicative from the start, and went the extra mile when it came to insurance verification, which is usually an annoying process. She was such a calming and supportive presence during those overwhelming first few weeks with our newborn. Her steady reassurance, patience, and kindness made a huge difference for our family during a challenging transition. We felt genuinely cared for and supported every step of the way.
