Prenatal: -2-3 in-home visits. -Birth planning -Labor and delivery education. -Setting goals, reviewing options, and discussing concerns. -Hands-on sessions for comfort measures, relaxation techniques ( massage, counter pressure), and affirmations. --Postpartum planning and basic baby care education. Continuous labor support: -24/7 on-call availability starting around 36 weeks gestation -Continuous presence and care during active labor and delivery at home, birth center, or hospital -Emotional support, physical comfort measures, and an objective voice. -Assisting the birthing person in making informed decisions and advocating for autonomy Immediate Postpartum Support: -Remaining with the family for several hours after birth to assist with initial recovery, breastfeeding, and ensuring the new family is settled. Postpartum Follow-up: -1-3 postpartum visits within the first few weeks after birth -Checking on the birthing person's well-being -Processing the birth experience -Addressing early postpartum challenges -Providing breastfeeding guidance Informational Support: -Providing evidence-based information on childbirth, newborn care, and postpartum recovery -Access to resources and referrals Support for Partners: -Guiding partners on how to best support the birthing person during labor and postpartum
